SR 610's and the Chron's John McClain reports that Def. End Connor Barwin is out for the year with a fractured right ankle. Barwin was injured in the 1st qtr.

We have TE's to trade if Schobel won't play.

(they were oddly absent from today's game, did Casey get a play?)

That break must be extremely high. That will be a real ***** to recover from. Very painful recovery too.

Sorry to hear, but not surprised. Hopefully Schobel joins up and fills the void.

The D-Line was fantastic today - I was extremely impressed - everyone had their motor going.

Unfortunate loss, I was really expecting Barwin to have a break out season. Really hope Smith/Kubiak at least give Schobel a call and possibly a gift basket.

He should just rub some dirt on it and adjust his running style to accommodate an ankle that bends at a 90 degree angle.

That was definitely one of those injuries that makes you sick to your stomach.

Tough break not only for Barwin on a personal level, but for the Texans. He was one of the players that many were looking for to take another step.

It sucks for him in that might be it for his career despite being a 2nd rounder. Even if he comes back you have so many people after your spot and it isn't like he is elite.

sucks for connor and the defense in general. Even though his role was limited, his athleticism and versatility was an asset. Plus, him on the edge was just awesome to watch on passing down.

He just needs to learn how to run left-footed.

I must say, it's a great feeling to know that your one and only favorite football team is 1-0 to start the season. I've been a fan of the Texans since they drafted Mario Williams (because I didn't watch the Texans before until I kept hearing about a draft and how Vince Young and Bush were going to be the Texans).

Even thought they didn't draft either of them, I still watched them and watched ever since. They've always started 0-1 since then until now.

NOW it gets interesting. I love this schedule simply because of the facts that it's tied for the toughest schedule in the league. The 2008 Pittsburgh Steelers had the toughest schedule and they won the Super Bowl. The 2008 Tennesse Titans had the easiest schedule and went 13-3 and lost in the first round of the play-offs.

I for one enjoy the fact that if the Texans have the toughest opponents, it will toughen the Texans like never before. It's ALWAYS gonna be exciting every week from now on, "I can't wait for Sunday to watch my Texans".

It's a great feeling and I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE TEXANS TO PLAY AGAINST THE REDSKINS! WOOHOOOO!

except 2007, when they started 2-0.

This is a great point. I like the schedule, too; I always want my teams to be able to beat the best.
