of course he could be successful in the NBA. but he doesn't want to. he's already been drafted by the Kings in 1995, but he likes playing in Europe. here's an article on him: http://www.sacbee.com/content/sports/story/4224200p-5245103c.html
Probably more than anyone wants to know about EuroBall but - This past season, Bodiroga was named 1st Team All EuroLeague along with 2 other Yugoslav players - Marko Jaric (Kinder) & Dejan Tomasevic (Tau). The other two were Tyus Edney (Benetton) & Emanuel Ginobili (Kinder). Dejan Bodiroga played for Panathinaikos last season but it appears he has signed with Gasols old team (FC Barcelona) for the coming season. Other players for FC Barcelona include Gregor Fuchka, Juan Carlos Navarro (if he doesn't play for Utah), Patrick Femerling, "Nacho" Rodriguez, and Nate Huffman (if he doesn't go to the Raptors). Also signed for the 2002-2003 season was the Yugoslav coach - Pesic. The 2002 EuroLeague Final 4 was won by Bodiroga's Panathinaikos team. Benetton was Nachbar's old team and they lost to Kinder by 8 (Boki had 17 points) in the first match. Panathinaikos then defeated Kinder by 6 in the championship game. In addition to Edney & Boki, Benetton also featured Jorge Garbajosa (Spain).
