Wal-Mart parking lots are lit and patrolled, best place to pull over and stop if you get tired, lots of RVs do it.
Driving tired is like driving drunk, don't endanger your family like that. Find a way to stay somewhere. Maybe couchsurfing.net if you really can't afford a hotel.
May the Lord be with you and guide you towards your destination... May he stay there right by your side and everyone else in the car as you all make this difficult trip. Rest is coming your way man, keep your head up.... I shall keep you in my prayers....
You realize the Wright Brother's come up with this great little invention in the early 1900s called the airplane? Its amazing, it cuts 22 hours down to 2 and and a half without the need to pay for gasoline or motels!
We went from Middle Georgia to Souix Falls, South Dakota with our son who was 8 months at the time, and it was January. We couldn't afford a hotel. It was miserable. Wasn't nearly as bad coming back. We spent the night at my Mom's house in OK(She had just moved from GA to SD the day before we got there, so it wasn't an option on the way there). Hard to believe we were wearing t-shirts in South Dakota in January. Picture from Mt Rushmore National Park.
absolutely. i cannot echo this loudly enough. i lost two cousins because a man fell asleep while driving after being up all night at the hospital visiting his daughter. killed him too. i have no doubt you could find a road side motel for $50. eta: mae's a cutie! good work juicystream!
After what we went through that trip to SD, I've always gotten a hotel if we were traveling a long way. A tired driver is worse than a drunk driver a lot of the time. My boss rear-ended somebody on I-75 when she fell asleep at the wheel(Thankfully nobody was hurt).
I'll pray for you. That's a long stretch of driving with the potential of being abducted on much of it.
