I have to think he was talking about an advantage to the PS3 is that you don't have to pay for XBox Live in order to use Netflix.

For me its the PS3 no question. Other than gaming capabilities, free online play, etc, there is a lot to offer. A big thing for me actually comes from the illegal side. As a movie / TV show downloader (I know I'm a disgrace), I am able to put TV shows and movies on my flash drive, plug it into my PS3, and watch stuff on there on my nice TV. The only thing that XBOX has is a bigger community (there are far more gamers playing online).

i'm sure i echo a few sentiments here. For gaming and online experience, hands down xbox is the undisputed champ.

For all purpose multimedia & gaming I'd have to go with a PS3.

    or just get both.

So boring and bland = less user friendly? I really don't see how there is any knock on the PS3 interface. It's simple and intuitive.

Why does online play for ps3 "suck"? Because only a few people uses mics? Citing your "experience" isn't very helpful considering you've only turned on your PS3 twice in the last year.

If its for family and party fun only, get the Wii
If its for online play mostly, get the 360, just be carefull of who you kids are freinds with
I chose the PS3 because the system is more reliable, it is blu-ray player, and online is free.

No one having a mic is a pretty big deal, how do you play with friends when no one has a mic? Less online players = less competition, that is pretty simple logic.

and Yes, boring and bland make it less user friendly.

Yes, me too. I bought the Wii earlier this year to get a work out out of some of their games but graphics are so bad compared to PS3/Xbox that i sold it just now, didn't even have it for a full year.

PS3 is the way to go, I had an xbox360 and I had to send it in 4 times to repair the Red Ring of Death, I think by now they are not as defective but still, the experience keeps me away from xbox360.

If you plan on getting either the PS move or kinect, that could factor in to your decision as well.

Xbox live is amazing. Tons of players, even for games like Red Dead Redemption that aren't great multiplayer games. You could just run around and eff with people. A great timekiller but I had to cancel it because I would play for hours on end and not get any sleep.

Never had an xbox360, but I would stick with the ps3, unless you are willing to replace your xbox every 2-3 years.

I hate when people use mics online, they're usually annoying as hell and I end up muting the majority of them. I have both PS3 and 360, and I don't think that PS3's interface is less user friendly than 360's. Usually if a game comes out for both I'll buy it for PS3.

Not really. Xbox 360's now are much better as they've been re-designed to cool more efficiently, ect

my ps3 failed on me before my 360.

RROD has supposedly been fixed, and has the extended warranty. I've had mine for 4 years, and I haven't had the RROD. I had their other major problem(E74). Another problem now covered by the additional warranty.

Since my PS1 and PS2 crapped out on me as well, my confidence in a PS3 wouldn't be any higher.

ps3 online sucks? Low online population? SMH @ these ignorants.

I only play online and I play my ps3 75% of the time, while im only on my 360 for the 360 only games (GOW, etc).

2k online sucks for both systems, BTW.

ps3 had the orange light of death. I've never sent my xbox in. I did sell it and get an elite. It might have failed on the guy who bought it from me...if we play the percentages, most likely

I've had both and while I do miss the xbox live experience I used to have, now with the limited amount of recreational time I have due to school the cost of xbox live wasn't really worth it for me.

I traded it for a ps3 and I think that was one of my better decisions, as I enjoy using it as my blueray player and playing online with it on occasion.

The online gameplay really isn't too bad, most people that do have mics on ps3 are the mature ones you would want to talk to, not the annoying little kids you get on every game on xbox live.

xbox has got the kinect thing coming out in november. The games look like better versions of wii games minus the collateral tv damage because there are no controllers to throw.

the xbox live experience is the best. But they just raised it the price from 49.99 to 59.99. Could be a deal breaker for some folks

Have you been keeping up with the Kinect impressions/thoughts lately? They have been mostly negative...the hype has died down considerably because Microsoft has failed to deliver.
