Good share thanks Link Has two vids http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2010/09/08/lost-in-translation/?ls=iref:nbahpt1
The sports media should be asking the question to themselves. It's the reason why the Rockets only had one nationally televised game last year and so very few saw how Scola was beasting after the Feb 18 trade of Landry. We know how Scola can play. They should ask Denver, New Jersey and Boston, to name just a few teams Scola scorched. The media value the "superstars" as they define it; hard-working players who are not flashy but have solid fundamentals are not given much attention.
I think duncan is the obious exception to the rule. He is not flashy but very hard working, and definitely gets his props in the media. Other than him, i can't think of any others though. I think another player who is underrated like Scola is David Lee. He's better than Stoudemire.
Maybe Dwyer should have waited a while before he ranked the PFs in the league  Great find OP. repped.
To state the obvious, he's been the king of FIBA this run. Scola is one of the premiere players...outside the NBA. I was happy when we resigned him (though it didn't appear there was a long line of teams looking to sign him), and love what he does for the team. In addition, seems to have one of the better personalities. Always very polite, perhaps the one guy on the team that actually sticks up for his guys when something happens. With that said, and unrelated to the NBA.com write up, to clarify that........ Wow, has the Scola love been off the charts recently on CF. People have started to talk about him here, like some superstar. He's not even one of the best two or three players on this team IMO. Now some are saying his game is better than Yao? Anyway, can't wait for the season to start, no Rox bball has been boring. My guess-Scola avgs. 15/9 this season.
Anyone who is the centerpiece of 4 NBA championships will get his due in the media. If Scola could fly around and dunk, people would think he's a better player than he is, even if he scored or rebounded less. People are easily mesmerized by high flying acrobatics, but people who understand basketball know that substance is more important. It's also one of the reasons Chauncey Billups has never really gotten his due despite being a winner.
He's easily a top 3 player on this team all around skill level. And I'm sure that CF has loved scola and showed praise for him. This is the offseason and he's setting up shop at FIBA so why not talk about it. But I undertake it's your opinion and scola will average close to a double double next year.
