assuming nobody else gets injured? anyone have predictions? I think 2 OB's and 3 RB's with an extra WR and an extra TE On D maybe a 5th DT? Will Holiday make roster?
Spoiler I'll say: QB: Schaub, Orlovsky(though McClain says they'll carry 3. fwtw) RB: Foster, Slaton, Johnson, Henry FB: Leach WR: Johnson, Walter, Jones, Anderson, Davis, Dickerson TE: Casey, Daniels, Dreessen, Graham(Hill to PUP or IR) T: Winston, Butler, Brown(Pemberton if they carry 4) G: W.Smith, Studdard, Briesel, Caldwell(S.Smith to PS) C: Myers, White DE: Barwin, Jamison, Nading, Williams, Smith DT: Okoye, Cody, Mitchell, Robinson(outside shot Sheppard takes Robinson's spot) LB: Adibi,Bentley,Cushing, Clark, Diles, Ryans, Sharpton CB: Quin, Jackson, McCain, McManis, Reeves, S: Wilson, Nolan, Pollard, Barber K: Rackers P: Turk LS: Dreessen
is holliday making the roster even a remote possibility at this point? I pretty much thought him being cut was a given
he's going to have to make some big plays in the games to have a chance. Bing is apparently out for the year. I though he could be a good special teams contributor. Not sure who else that would open the door for at LB.
Not sure why we need a return man when we already have one of the best in Jacoby. I know they're trying to make him into a full-time WR, but if it isn't broke, why fix it?
You're exactly right. I was going to counter your first sentence with what you said in the 2nd sentence but you're right. Anyhow, not sure why.
I think this is about right as of now. Jeremiah Johnson goes to PS if we carry three QB's ... I could also see Molden making the roster as a 6th corner in place of Johnson, or pushing McManis to PS. I don't think they're ready to give up on Molden, and he's good on special teams. If he gets hurt again, he's done though. Bing could've pushed Adibi or Clark out of a job, too bad he got hurt. Bubble guys/Practice Squad prediction: S.Smith Mcmanis (w/ Molden making the roster) J.Johnson/Booty (one makes the roster) Stenavich/Pemberton (cut one) Sheppard B.Helms
FWIW, I've heard that the coaching staff is REALLY high on McManis and Jeremiah Johnson right now. I think if they both continue to impress like they have, someone like Danny Clark probably ends up getting cut to make room for both of them on the roster.
Yeah, I don't doubt it. I was just thinking about it from a standpoint that Mcmanis and Johnson might be easier to put on PS without having to risk them being plucked by other teams. We'll see how Mcmanis does during the rest of preseason -- if he does well, Molden is a goner. And I just don't see them going into games with 4 RB's dressed, so there's no sense in having both JJ and Henry on the active roster when JJ can go to practice squad until we need him (ie RB's get banged up). Also keep in mind that if OD isn't quite ready for the opener, they may keep a Long Snapper while Dreessen handles TE full-time. That would definitely push a RB and probably Booty to PS.
I think Scoren Doren has taken Holliday's spot on the team, at this point. While he isn't a return man, I keep hearing good to great things about the kid. Holliday can do one thing and only one thing which already limited him but it doesn't look like he can even do that very well. Hopefully he can have a bounce back game but at this point I dont see it.
I did hear Molden's status is up in the air for the game this week. Unfortunate if true, as this has been the story of his career thus far. As they say, can't make the team from the tub.
this is true but I think the argument is that since Jacoby is going to be used on offense much more, they may not want to risk him being injured. That being said, unless Trindon's flip switches and he returns a kick each of the games left while making no popor decision, I would expect Jacoby/Davis to be returning kicks.
Being more involved in the offense doesn't mean he can't still return kicks, plenty of involved players still do both duties.
Goodbye, Kris. Thanks for the memories. There's no more need to discuss this. Hope he gets another chance to show how good he can be. As a person, he was good. Too bad it's too late for us now.
feel for the guy cause he has been a class act and outside of last year he has been very solid. Time to move on though. He had a good run and someone will pick him up
Thanks for your years on the team, Kris. Stand up guy that genuinely cared. I'll miss you pumping up the fans from the sidelines every home game.
