Two questions (not really experienced but really want to try): 1)Where are some good places in Houston where you can order rack of lamb? 2)What stores should I look in for racks so I can try it out at home? Thanks
I love lamb, unfortunately when I want it in a restaurant I must travel to Memphis. Texas de Brazil has it and it is good. Sam's Club in my hometown usually carries lamb so there is one option to try.

I like to select my lamb personally on how pathetic its painful bleets are. Makes me feel more connected to my meal.
Perfect opportunity for me to post: Spoiler <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/cUA72_MhisQ?fs=1&hl=en_US&start=49"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/cUA72_MhisQ?fs=1&hl=en_US&start=49" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> "[whistles ♪] I tell y'all right now, I'm hungry ! My buddy has a Bichon Frise and some English In-laws. The other night they went to dinner at their house and they were going to serve lamb. He told them he was sorry but he didn't eat lamb. The asked " why not?" He said, "I can't eat anything that looks like my little dog."
Costco has a frenched (bone is clean) rack of lamb for about 10 bucks a pound. Compare that with Whole Food's charging almost twice that much. Just sear them with salt/pepper on a smoky hot pan, finish in a hot oven to a temperature of your liking.
damn i knew it would be more expensive at whole foods but didn't know twice as much... costco is a little far and it'll be hard for me to get someone with a membership. do they check faces on your id's there or just ask for one? i wanted to stay away from sams just because i don't really feel comfortable getting fresh raw meat there but i might have to
I got some from FreshDirect (which I guess you probably don't have down there) and made a delightful mustard and herb crusted rack a few months back. It was delectable. In all seriousnous, make sure you get a good piece of meat, it's hard to f- it up. Go to Whole Foods or Rice epicurean or whatever you guys have down there.
