And yet *censored for hangout* whine because *censored* is spending lots of money to fix our national infrastructure...while stuff like this happens because companies and the US Gov for years have ignored improving basic structural integrity for the interest of business and war. Just the second of many disasters to follow.
Maybe the oil industry should consider hiring the former Iraqi information minister?: "There is no explosion. These people are taking a swim. There is no oil anywhere. I triple guarantee you everything is fine." That said...I hope the workers are safe. Beyond that...I hope this isn't another oil spill we are looking at.
Its a shallow water platform, not a rig. (bottom supported rather than floating rig like deep water horizon) I highly doubt this could do anywhere near the damage as deepwater horizon did.

No loss of life first off. And the stock price of Mariner hasn't fallen off huge .....indicating we are probably looking at a situation that is contained. Apache could be supporting it (the price) but the location of the well combined with the aforementioned says to me the situation is not too bad.
