uh. Why would they needed all those guards? Even Nate Robinson plays the 2 at times. That's just a total logjam. Unless Wafer is on a non-guaranteed contract I don't see why they would have him there.
You forgot Big Baby. Rounding out the bench are rookies Luke Harangody and Semih Erden. FWIW, Harangody looked very good in summer league. Likewise Erden in the current World tournament. Perkins will be out until at least midseason. The Celtics look very deep, but still might have a problem at back up small forward where they have very little length and Marquis Daniels has an injury history.
Smart move by the Celtics. Even if he can distract Lebron a little bit during an ECF matchup, he's earned his paycheck.
I guess I missed out on the part about Delonte West being good. Cause all I remember about him is being a choker and poor teammate. Also he looks stupid, that's never a plus.
He is a good player. Very good defender. Pretty good shooter. Knows the system, and that's an advantage for him. The contract is not guaranteed, so he'll have to make the team in training camp, but it's hard to see Gaffney or Lafayette beating him out for a spot.
Its a good signing in a vacuum but not so good considering they already had a glut in sg/pg combos. Rondo, Allen, Von Wafer, Nate Rob, Avery Bradley and now Delonte West? They have half their roster in just two positions, lol! The main problem though is all of their wings are head cases-VW, NR and DW are all guys who get antsy without PT-VW fought Adelman due to PT, NR fought D'Antoni due to PT and now West might do riding around desperado style if he rots in the bench. On the other hand they lack SF depth, and need better big men than the two O'neals. Both O'neals suck defensively, and with KG aging as well and Perkins injured their D will take a nosedive next season. I predict the Celts will lose steam and flame out in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Its gonna be Magic and Miami duking it out when all is said and done.
