This may seem weird to be asking this question on clutchfans but I kind of have a feeling that the results will be a lot closer than you think.

Which sport do you enjoy the most overall?

    American football
    or
    Basketball

Basketball is more intense in my opinion through out the whole game. More entertainment too. High flying dunks, blocks, crossovers, etc.

Are you serious? Football is King... Basketball is no where near football in terms of excitement.

Give me any other sport ahead of Basketball... Basketball is without question, the most boring sport to watch and it's not even close.

I'd actually rank them like this...

    1.) Rockets
    2.) NFL
3.) The rest of the NBA

    if that makes any sense.

ROCKETS basketball trumps all in my book. But after Rockets Basketball its college football, NFL football, Aggie basketball, and then NBA basketball... followed by college basketball as a whole. So ya, football over basketball for me.

APPLES vs. Oranges... which one will win?

    I
    Like to play
    Like to watch
    Like to talk about
    BASKETBALL.

    Football's advantages are that
stadiums are bigger because there are less games
final champion is more prized because there are less teams in the playoffs playing for it
More people watch the final game around the world and there is no "home court advantage"
It is more difficult to play this at home/school/work, so watching professionals do it makes it more admirable and their skills more valuable.
Well, of course not, there aren't 82 games of TEXANS football, so it's easy to schedule around a one-time-a-week thing. This is the same with my soccer games.

Love 'em both but.....it's gotta be basketball to me. Grew up on the Rockets, couldn't do that with the Texans, and too young for the Oilers.

I like the pure sport of basketball better, but the modern version of the NBA with all the flopping and incompetent (and possibly corrupt) officiating has turned me from the sport. The NBA really is a farce these days. For that reason, I would much rather watch football or baseball.

    Basketball.

I don't mind football, though I don't watch or follow it regularly. The obsession with football and the priority it gets over NBA talk on the radio kind of annoys me.

Football is the sport I lean to if I don't have a rooting interest.

I tend to agree that the current version of the NBA is less appealing than the NFL to me.

If the Texans and the Rockets play at the same time, I'll watch the Texans.
If for whatever reason either the NFL or the NBA has to go under, and I get to choose which, I'll choose the NFL.

On a per-game basis, the nfl is for me better entertainment. But the dead time between games is pretty boring. I remember the time when I listened to sports radio everyday because of long drives to work. And football season was nauseous because of the same stuff always been talked about forever everyday because of time off between games.

Basketball!! The last second shots, steals, breakaway dunks, three point plays beyond the arc or old fashioned, dunks in traffic, blocks, rebounds, post moves, just everything about it!!
