98 Jordan, then didnt watch for 3 years, then Tmac..I still remember that backboard alleyoop to himself in 02's all star game.
Not gunna lie, T-Mac for me too. When healthy, he was a incredible ball player. He will always be my all-time favorite player.
I started paying attention to NBA in '96. My favorite player was/is Michael Jordan although the Rockets "Big 3" were a close second.
The Dream I was fortunate to be living in Philly when the Sixers took it to LA in the Finals. That was a great series and cemented my hatred of all things Kobe.
ralph sampson and akeem olajuwon (twin towers forever baby) that 85-86 rockets team that went to the finals against boston got me hooked. robert reid lewis lloyd rodney mccray akeem ralph
Hrrm....... i guess you can say in 89-90....i was around 5 - it was the whole jordan/bad boy pistons that kinda got me interested. definitely always watched jordan play when he was on tv....for some reason, i just liked watching jordan. when we won the championships got me really into it as well as basketball card collecting. first name that came to mind besides jordan and olajuwon though is.... Penny....
Players still want to win today, but just in the easiest way possible with little to no effort(LeBron, Wade, and Bosh.)
Eric Piatkowski....kidding. If I had to pick a singular player it would be Dream, although I would say it was just those championship teams from 93-95. Those years were really when I took off as a basketball fan. There were a ton of other teams from that time period that got me hooked though... -The Kemp/Payton Sonics that gave the Rockets fits -The "Run TMC" Warriors that never quite grew into the team that they could have been. -Oddly, I enjoyed watching the Heat during the mid-90s. Most view their play (and the Knicks play) from this period of time as ugly basketball, but in my pre-teen mind, they were the tough guys of the NBA and every game against them was a fight. -The Barkley Suns that the Rockets went toe-to-toe with.
ok how is it blasphemy for me to be introduced to basketball by kobe, but ok for everyone to be introduced to basketball by tmac?
