I'm surprised how fair that player ranking is. I wouldn't change a whole lot on there. Of course I disagree with some, but not bad....not bad at all. I would have put Grif and Ming at one-two, but that may be my heart talking.
The got beat, sure. Dominated? That is a little bit of a stretch. Not only were they the only team to win a game against the Lakers if I remember, they played the most competitive games against them. In short tey unquestionably played the red hot Lakers better than anyone else in the playoffs that year. Better than the Spurs, better than the Kings, better than anyone the West tried to put in the Lakers way. I'd like to modify this a bit. The year Philly went to the finals they were AI, Motumbo and a bunch of spares who totally brung it on D who got hot. This past year they were AI, Motumbo and a bunch of spares that could not get hot and who couldn't play any kind of special team D .
They lost the series 4 games to 1. Wheres the stretch? The Lakers dominated them. At no point during that series was the outcome in doubt.
This might be the only one where you can actually look at and say, "He has to be higher than that, come on!" They put Jason Kidd at number 11. The top PG's in the league are all centered around 14-11 in their rankings; which to me doesn't seem correct, especially when Kidd was 2nd in voting for MVP honors last year. But then again, they are probably looking at the players individually...

Man, you missed the practice ramble... That isn't Crash, that was Iverson. He went on and on and on and on and on about how he could not believe anyone EVER questioned his work ethic or commitment to practicing. He kept saying things like, Man, I can't believe we are talking about practice, not a game, but practice. We aren't sittin' here talking about what I did during a game, but practice.... Anyway it was classic, he went on and on for about 5 minutes. Sportscenter showed it many times! It was hilarious. I must agree with Crash here! It is the east after all. Please! Nobody was talking about what an incredible job Jason Kidd was doing making his Suns team sooo much better, while shooting 40%. One thing that should make the point that he is NOT one of the best in the league is the fact he has been traded TWICE! Hello! He made the Nets look great, buuuut it is in the EAST! He could not get it done in the WEST! See the theme here... Stackhouse, Kidd, AI, EAST! Maybe we can get the Rockets moved to the EAST! HA! Wouldn't that be cool! Finals every year! One more thing, as far as the Sixers giving the Lakers a battle that year... the Lakers are in a zone.... nobody has really given them a tough run until Sac this year.
the practice ramble was about how does practice make me better. or how does it make the team better. Man if that was my teamate and we had to practice while he was out finding a new way to style his corn rows i'd tear him a new one. Thats just not the kind of chemistry that a team needs. No one in the EC can be an elite team. I know it doesn't say much, but they were almost knocked out twice that year. That doesn't sound like the lakers in the west bringing out the brooms. To sum up my thesis, AI just a great scorer and nothing more.
He is the final and complete list of the "top 50 players" in the NBA. Although I think that for the most part that the list is fairly accurate, I don't like how they put Shaq above Ducan. Ducan is a more versatile and complete player than Shaq, and he doesn't have a "Kobe" around to help him out every so often. 50. John Stockton 49. Eddie Jones 48. Raef LaFrentz 47. Bonzi Wells 46.
