    Air plane pilots?

Does this include commercial airline pilots? Cause that number seems kind high....

These are dangerous professions where those in it are probably a bit more careful. They have protective gear etc.

How many Policemen/Firemen died last year in Houston? I would say [hope] less than 20. however, if you added injury into the equation it maybe makes the list.

this is pretty remarkable . . . seems like work is safer than home.

I think the list is flawed because danger does not necessarily mean number of deaths.

There's roughly 1.5 million people serving in the US Military (active duty). There were 317 deaths last year and have been about 310 so far this year. That's roughly 20 deaths per 100,000. If you include those in the reserves, it's about 9 deaths per 100,000.

    Thanks for the info.
The US Death rate: 803.6 deaths per 100,000 population [2007]
Less than 1% chance of dying every year. Not bad.

If the list includes injuries, then they would be in there.

What about ice road truckers and oil rig workers? I bet they get lumped into larger categories.

They didn't even mention those high pole climbers, not sure what they call them, but I remember that this is the most dangerous job in America.

Those guys don't really even get paid all that well. There are nerds sitting in cubicles that get paid way better. It's sad.

Sweet, I've had 4 of those jobs & have avoided major injury. I think I'll go juggle some knives.
