ok.... my friends and i were talking about these three movies

    Braveheart
    Gladiator
    Platoon

    And which one we liked the best. Personally I would rank them.

    1 Platoon
    2 Braveheart
    3 Gladiator

    And that is taking everything into account. Meaning Platoon was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid. Somewhat like me throwing Dazed and Confused into my top twenty or so movies if I were to rank them.

    I am curious how everyone here would rank them. If enough people vote I will do a point scale and see who wins.

    Platoon is kind of an outlier in this company, really dissimilar to the other 2. i found Braveheart and Gladiator both entertaining, Braveheart a little sadder at the end.

    Platoon was devastating for me to watch. saw it with my old man in philly. i remember at one point him turning to me and say , "why, they're all smoking refer!"

    no ****, old man...weird, given he got out of the army medical corps in 1965, just as the marines waded ashore at da nang.

    great use of Barber's Adagio for Strings in Platoon.

    This. Braveheart is my favorite epic movie. Gladiator and Platoon are both pretty good.

    I totally understand the Dazed and Confused sentiment, though. I think it's a Texas thing.

    I like Braveheart and Platoon, but I never understood the love for Gladiator. The action sequences are full of closeups and jump cuts.

    Oh, here comes the battle scene!

    Microscopic picture of tiger fur
    Man grimacing
    Microscopic picture of tooth (could be human or tiger)
    Five grains of dirt flying.
    ...
    Dead tiger and cheering crowd.

    That was AWESOME!

    I don't remember Platoon anymore.

    I would rank Braveheart and Gladiator the same. both great story but sad ending.

    i know what your saying and all i really do. but they are somewhat relevant because they are ALL movies.

    you know how they have award shows for best picture and they have forrest gump beating out pulp fiction even though one was about semi-r****ded guy getting into all kind of crazy adventures, and the other was about... well im not sure what that movie was i guess shiny stuff in a briefcase.

    Gladiator is my favorite movie, I like Braveheart but it is not even close for me. I have never seen Platoon

    Of those three, I've only seen Gladiator. I thought it was good, but I didn't get why people acted like it was the greatest movie ever.

    It is often stated at least a million big game died in the Roman coliseum.
    The Atlas lion made extinct due to the games some say...

    Gladiator is the only one of the 3 I like appreciably.
