To be fair, only two people out of 90 voted for Wall.

Exactly I started to say that.

Basically by the votes it's between Durant and James.

    Durant.

LeBron's probably only got about 5-6 years left of his prime and he relies a lot on his superior physique to get by, so his game won't really continue as-is once his body begins to decline. He'll be better than Durant for the next few years, but the overall body of work between Durant and LeBron during the next decade will definitely give the edge to Durant.

    Durant.

Miami will win a ring, and either LBJ or DWade will win the Finals MVP, leaving the other person feeling neglected and craving for recognition. Chemistry evaporates, trust deteriorates, locker room problems ensue. The two part ways 3 years after winning the first ring when one of them demands a trade to a contender in the Western Conference weeks before trade deadline. Shaq/Kobe feud 2.0.

    *fingers crossed*

Not going to happen. Shaq and Kobe weren't good friends who spent years talking about teaming up together before it happened.

That said, I agree that Durant will be considered the player of the decade, unless Miami goes on a crazy run and wins 4+ championships. Then the number of rings will leave most people picking Lebron as the player of the decade.

Kobe?! He's got maybe a year or two of being still being a dominant player before he'll come down to the rest of the pack.

It's one thing to be good friends on different teams, it's another when you have to play under the other person's shadow every game when you're as good (if not better) than DWade.

Yeah, my money on Lebron bolting :) Hard to reach the goal of being a "global icon" when you are just the 2nd best basketball player in town.

I'm sure the first couple of years will be honeymoon... until they win their first ring.

I pretty much agree with the panel. LeBron followed by Durant. The one guy who deserved a vote and didn't get one off the top of my head? Deron Williams. How Brandon Jennings could get a vote, but not Williams is beyond me.

Durant is good no doubt but I don't think he will be better than lebron for a long time. Lebron can do everything better than durant except endear himself to the public.

Everybody always says lebron choked in the playoffs this year but KD shot 35% FG and 28% from 3 this year in his own playoff performance. I realise he is only 21 but when lebron was 21 he averaged more points, steals, assists and shot a better FG% during the regular season than durant and everything else was barely lower. James also played far better than kevin in the playoffs and almost willed his team to the WCF but lost in a 7 game series.

Durant will probably be a great player and if he continues to improve, maybe even better than LBJ (because james hasn't really improved all that much throughout his career it seems), but based on their accomplishments by 21 there is no way you can know if he will end up better or not

What about howard? He has at least 6 really good years left and has shown to be a winner.

how is John Wall number 4 on that list? he hasn't done anything and i don't think he will be a top 5 NBA player for any single year in the next decade, much less player OF THE DECADE. don't see him being better than point guards like chris paul and deron williams
