    They don't?

Then why did we sign Miller?

Why is Portland trying to hold onto Fernandez?

Why did Orlando pay so much for Gortat?

    The words aren't really wrong.

It's the placement that is. Having said all he said, are we really worse than the Hornets and Grizzlies? We were better than them last season without Yao Ming or Brad Miller and starting a 6'6" center.

Heck, if you're gonna put us at 17, I wish at least we were predicted to be the worst team in the NBA so we can have some people's jaws drop and then hear tim legler, broussard, Steven A, and etc bow down to us mid season.

Is that a crack at mexicans? If so I approve, if not it should've been.

lol no it wasn't.. he was a guy who wasn't very highly touted, worked his arse off in college for four years and was rewarded by having a team find him and sign him.

He's a worker, like my Chuck.

you obviously dont "got it" if you go strictly by record .. the rockets LAST YEAR were 15th best team .. that was LAST YEAR minus yao, miller, and kevin martin for half a year .... so to say that you will get yao back, even if you assume he is not going to be dominant... you get martin for a whole year (which he acknowledges as a good thing) AND get a year under the belt of jordan hill etc ... if someone says you take all that improvement and as a result we will be 2 spots worse than what we did last year esp considering Cleveland should not be in the top 20, utah lost soo many players and replaced them with, oh yah a big man just a year removed from a season ending injury, Denvers got two of their players who either dont want to play with them or vice versa... phoenix lost their second best player ..

taking all that into account ... yah than we dont think the guy is very smart
    ...

    got it?

i dont have insider so i dont know what he said about other teams .. but some teams he has rated ahead of us ..

    suns: Additions: turkalou, childress, warrik
    loses: amare, barbosa

Not one of those guys offsets the loss of amare, heck not two of those guys combined do that... childress at best is as good as barbosa..

    portland:
Added: travis diener, and wesley matthews
Lost: ryan gomes Losing soon: rudy fernandez
this is better than us getting yao back?

denver: added: anthony carter and sheldon williams
had cops called to their practice facility, have their star player no longer wanting to play for them.. Didnt even have a GM until today and yet they had a better offseason????

    Lakers :
additions: theo ratliff and steve blake..

Clearly if this is about creating a buzz in the offseason .. rockets have done more than the teams ranked a head of them ....

What's wrong with his analysis is that he provides no analysis. What you listed are not analysis, they are observations.

Basically he listed who was on the roster, said they'll be the same as last year and then slapped a 17 on the team. And he doesn't even mention Budinger or the bench and doesn't seem to comprehend that a team with Yao or Miller at center is a very different team from a team that starts 6'6" Chuck Hayes

Analysis would be if he had an OPINION or perspective how those pieces are going to fit together. How Yao would fit with Martin and the new pieces on the team? Or even the strengths and weaknesses of the lineup versus other teams in the West? What matchups and tempo could Houston use on other teams? Posting basically "same old same old" when in fact Houston is looking at a change at least in 2 starting positions and 1/3 new players is... well really smart.

If you cant honestly see the problems with that his "analysis" you aint trying too hard to look.

without yao the rockets finished around 17 last season, and that's with Martin adjusting to his new team and lowry missing key games.
