I will not debate pointlessly with your presumed arrogance, but his opinion is worth as much as yours no matter what you try to say.
Wow, you have done a great service in this thread pointing out your opinion about how opinions should be viewed. And I am not arrogant, I am just right, there is no debate on this topic. DD
not sure if anyone saw this http://www.digitalsportsdaily.com/nba/news/3078-jr-smith-allegedly-tried-to-choked-player.html apparently he choked a player during practice...
We don't have to. Even if Denver insist he be part of the deal, We can simply trade for him and cut him. The biggest problem with Smith for me isn't that he's an idiot and a seemingly psychopath. The biggest problem is that he's not really that good. Mediocre headcases are the type you keep around when they're doing well, and let go when you're fed up. See Wafer, Von and Maxwell, Vernon.
The team JR currently plays for has been to WCF consecutive years. How exactly has JR Smith "killed" his team What your doing is rushing to judgment without acknowledging how good the player is. And you have been ducking my previous posts for obvious reasons
If thats what it takes to get mello for cheap then im all for it.. as far as j.r. or chase... J.r.s better as of now game wise. attuide wise its chase no doubt. And if we give up battier and chase we are gonna need someone to back up mello anyway.
Not to be morbid, but there is a pretty literal answer to your question. Check his wiki entry. On another note, today he choked a practice player helping out the Nuggets. Do not want.
I seriously don't know why you guys are all freaking out, J.R would simply be another asset for us to trade away when we go for another superstar, im sure plenty of teams would like to have J.R on their team, he may suck at defence but the kid can light it up, from deep to... All of you look for negativity in everything that comes our way look at the pros not just the cons, i know im going to cop some flack but im telling you how it is, no deal is set in stone, have your two cents worth, and don't judge someone without facts, for all we know J.R could be the nicest guy out, i mean he killed his friend in a car crash he's been through a fair bit, he has a sound game and to be honest i'd gladly welcome him. Take it for what it is.
A case can be made that JR Smith would benefit from having Rick Adelman, Luis Scola, Shane Battier, Kyle Lowry, Chuck Hayes, and Yao Ming to look to, compared to what he has had on the Thuggets. JR has proven that he can make a team better, as he did in 08-09, including the playoffs, where they played for the WCC. Farther than the Rockets have been in more than a decade. I'm not saying that I agree with bringing on Earl Smith, but a case can be made that he would help. To deny that is childish... After all, Ron Artest was far more volatile than JR before meeting Rick the Ruler's backhand...
JR Smith>>>>BUD. I say do it, if it doesnt work out, then we just have to put to his contract is up at the end of the year. A championship team most of the time needs a thug, thats why nice teams like the rockets and Texans never win anything.
Obviously. One round further, just one.....and they have had a lot more talent on their overall roster. JR Smith is an example of everything that is wrong with the NBA, he should not even be in the league, and he won't be, in probably a year or so, this might be his last contract.... DD
I don't write on ClutchFans very often but I read it just about every day. I used to think that DaDakota was very knowledgable when it came to Rockets but the more and more I read on this thread, I find you to be quite the dumbass. There was an article released that said we could trade Battier and Jefferies expiring contracts and Kevin Martin (which I would not be thrilled to give up) for Melo and JR Smith. The reason this trade makes sense is because it allows us the opportunity to compete with anyone in the league. JR Smith might have his problems on and off the court but so did Ron Artest and look what Rick did for him. You sit here and bash on the under 25 crowd for supporting a gifted basketball player who is a proven scorer and great player off the bench, I'm sure it's not just us under 25er's. You've made yourself look real dumb this entire time. Having a roster that looks like this = CHAMPIONSHIP. Brooks/Lowry Lee/Smith Melo/Bud Scola/Patterson/Hill Yao/Miller
Relax Leslie ! I am just having a little fun.......chenjy9 is obviously right, everyone's opinion carries equal weight. Except in this case, where I am right and all you noobs are wrong. BWAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH JR Smith is a guy I will NEVER want on my beloved Rockets, ever...and there are a good number of people that buy season tickets that probably feel exactly like I do..... DD
As for your username comment... I don't really see why that has anything to do with how dumb you sound. You talk a big game behind a computer screen. Its funny that you think you know everything about the rockets and basketball, what a f'ing joke. Noobs.... that's creative. Sorry I haven't spent the last 12 years of my life on clutchfans stating my opinion as if it was passed down straight from the Rockets. You're a douche straight up. I can't wait til DM makes the move and brings both to Houston so you can shut the f*** up. KOBY
How do you know it isn't? LOL... If you read Clutchfans as much as you claim to do then you would know the lunacy of what you just typed. A douche huh....nice.... BTW - Leslie was a reference to the movie stripes, it was intended as humor, but that is what we DaDouches do, you know. DD
I usually try to give player the benefit of the doubt, but I have to agree with DD here. JR is an idiot on the court who is not worth having on this team. Sometimes there are guys that can be kept under control by the type of people that are on the type, but Smith seems to be the kind of fool that just doesn't benefit from being around good people. He really needs help because his attitude is bad and I want no part of him on the Rockets. It's fine if we trade for him to facilitate a Melo trade, but cut his ass right after he gets here. Yeah he gets hot on the court and can help the team win games but he also has a lot of cold streaks and takes stupid shots that takes teams out of the flow of their offense. If we get Melo, that's enough, we don't need more ball-stoppers in this offense.
