Vspan's shot is so ugly still. I guess being the T-mac of Greece doesn't require you to work on your game as much.
I love international ball. Any extra basketball in the Summer is always good. I like this current Team USA. They are literally going to run away with the gold. Pretty much unstoppable on the break.
Vspan with a very very rough first half, I think he missed his only shot and had 3 turnovers. Greece is hanging tough though, but the announcers keep talking about them holding 3 of their best players out and not showing their hand....so they have a better chance to beat them next week. Yeah, not going to happen, I don't think. DD
Does he usually have good handles? I vaguely remember van gundy saying he was turnover prone. That being one reason for not playing him.

I just caught part of the third quarter and I saw V-Span clang an open jumper, V-Span turnover, and then V-Span get turnstiled on defense. He really is the McGrady of Greece! Yay!!!
Weird game to watch, Greece didn't do too many of their customary pick and rolls and they only played one series of zone defense. The USA won fairly easily but I doubt they get those break outs in the next game. They are vulnerable to teams that protect the ball and play good zone defense. I think they are the favorite at the worlds, but not by a whole lot...gonna be some competition and they may lose one... DD
I'm not sure Krzyzewski is doing a good job coaching these guys on the Euro style of play. Spain is gonna be tough. Spain killed us on simple PnRs, backscreens, back door cuts. Way too much confusion on D. Team U.S.A rellied on iso's, transition and individual plays to score. In the half court it was who ever had the ball shot. That 3 point line must be too tempting to pass up because while we where shooting long jumpers, Spain was getting into the lane with layups or short J's. Funny how a well coached team can play or potentially beat a way more talented and athletic team U.S.A.
