http://www.bobcatsbaseline.com/blog/?p=3329 Aug 23 Kwame Brown – What? Category: Offseason '10, Trades & Acquisitions Jordan Bringing Kwame to The Cats ESPN.com just posted this story about Kwame Brown coming to the Charlotte Bobcats. A reunion that no one in the NBA expected will be taking place in Charlotte this season when Kwame Brown suits up for the Michael Jordan-owned Bobcats. Brown’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, told ESPN.com on Monday that the 27-year-old has agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Bobcats. The deal, for the league’s veteran minimum, will bring Brown and Jordan back together after Jordan drafted the power forward straight out of high school in Washington with the No. 1 overall pick in 2001 in a move that worked out disastrously for both of them. Man, what are the Bobcats thinking on this one? Could they be securing another Center because Dampier, Diop, or Mohammed will be traded?
Bobcats sign Kwame Brown by drapht00 on Aug 23, 2010 2:31 PM (DA -- From the FanPosts. More on this later. To sum up my point of view: Not terrible, given the money. I only wish we could've been more creative. Also, maybe this is Jordan throwing Kwame a bone and saying he's sorry?) The Bobcats have signed Kwame Brown to a 1 year deal at the league minimum. His agent says he wants to "create a new chapter." This is pure LOL. I don't even know what to say. I'm expecting some serious photoshopping going on. http://www.rufusonfire.com/2010/8/23/1637898/bobcats-sign-kwame-brown

To be fair, Charlotte's other centers suck hardcore so it might not be a bad move considering he's only playing for the vet minimum.
Funny reaction to Kwame Brown when he signed with the Pistons by two Detroit DJ's.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTgtAPDyZlE
One year minimum deals make it hard to knock the buyer. 4-4 production in limited minutes, not terrible for the last big off the bench.
Are they going to keep Dampier or take the capspace by releasing him? Has that deadline passed already? Maybe there is a trade brewing for one of their other centers... Otherwise, I don't understand the move at all. $26 million already tied up at the center position with Dampier, Nazr and Diop...
If the Bobcats are going to trade Damp, please let it be to the Clippers for Baron Davis... http://www.realgm.com/src_tradechecker/3/
kwame for the minimum is a good signing. Regardless of the guy never living up to his former first overral draft positioning. For whatever people think, kwame is an elite post defender. He is a top 5 defender as a center regardless of what people think. He's a bigger version of chuck hayes on defense. At 6'10 and 260lbs, he is a very immovable player inside. His hands are still below avg,but for vet min, it was a great signing.
Was it true that Jordan destroyed Kwame's confidence in his rookie year and Kwame never recovered from that?
I think it's safe to say that Kwame would've been a bust pretty much anywhere he was drafted. He had plenty of chances as a young player post-MJ Wizard years and on the Lakers. The guy just doesn't have the hands or natural feel/instincts needed to be a star.
Howard Perkins Bogut Duncan Camby Noah Horford Lopez Yao Oden I guess it isn't the most outrageous statement, but you'd think a top 5 defender would get more than the vet min.
