The Rose/Westbrook backcourt combo needs more minutes. They were flat out blazing past everyone out there.

Rondo seems to be a lock for the team so there's really no point in playing him when there's other guards that need to be looked at. The on-the-bubble players like Curry and Gordon were the ones that needed to show what they can do.

Rondo not playing at all today is very strange to me. This was a bonding experience for every guy that took the floor and Rondo had no part in it. Maybe he was ill. Maybe Coach K is saving him as the secret weapon against Spain in the medal round.

tofu, you are dead on about the Rose/Westbrook combo. Both guys are lightening quick, very strong and present matchup problems for opponents. They dominated when both were on the floor at the same time.

Matchman, Rubio was OK. I think once our players gauged his moves and length, he effectiveness decreased. I think it's safe to say the guy won't take the NBA by storm, but he should be fine.

Who gets the roster spot between Curry and Gordon? Up to today, I was thinking Gordon because he fits FIBA better because of his strength. Right now, it's a tossup in my mind.

Didn't watch the game today but what exactly is gordons strenght relative to curry? Curry seems to do everything as well or better than Gordon, judging by their nab games.

In FIBA, perimeter defenders are allowed to push, shove (and basically FOUL) on a consistent basis. Gordon is very strong and can absorb this contact without a problem. Curry clearly cannot and it's easier to knock him around and throw him off his game.

The problem (from what I've observed) is Gordon has exercised very poor judgement with his shot selection and passing. But Curry was very guilty of that today. He roasted and toasted Rubio twice and it was beautiful. Both his crossover and clean strip of Rubio were two things Gordon won't do. But he had two horrific (  ) passes and he took an incredibly dumb long jumper.

If the U.S. faces a team with big guards who like to lean and shove, Curry is at a distinct disadvantage over Gordon. If Gordon's shot is on, he is much better for Team USA than Curry. But Curry is a more consistent shooter.

I can't decide right now. I want Curry to play well enough to make it, but ida know if he's there. I think the rough play throws him off.

If the US don't improve their team chemistry tremendously. We are in a for a huge disappointment...

How was Llull throughout the game? I was only able to catch the 2nd half and just saw him for what seemed like a couple of minutes of PT.
