Since it's related to the Rockets, You can place this kind of thread in the main forum and receive much more attention there next time. Just an opinion.

As to Kobe joining the Rockets, ok let me take a heartattack pill first to prevent my heart bursting from overjoy.

If Shaq retires , or his game declines significantly, it is conceivable that Kobe will bolt. I bet the first one that will be gunning for him is Jerry West.

Interestingly, Ming's rookie contract will be up in 2005 too. The management will have to give him a big extension, like they do Francis, or risk losing him in free agency.

if shaq retires, there is no point for kobe to stay with laker... Laker will be cripled without shaq :D

If Kobe bolted, I bet originally he would have gone to Philly, but boy did the Philly fans F-up when they booed him. I would love to have Kobe, and would definately move Mobley to get him, but If Francis, Ming, and EG have max contracts, how are we going to pay for him, not to mention that the revenues from last season were down, what's to say they won't keep plummeting?

Kobe ain't leavining because no one can pay him what the lakers can pay him. The most people can offer him is the Max and the Lakers can pay him more than what they are paying him now which is more than the max.
