Supposedly happened on the Aug 4th, how is this not a bigger story? I'm not finding any news links at all which makes me think it's a fake.

By putting out a forged article?

Don't get me wrong, the guy seems to be an idiot, but your post is pretty idiotic as well.

Interestingly, this "church" has problems beyond their fire permit issue.

    http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsme...nies_florida_churchs_plans_to_burn_korans.php

Regardless of whether the church goes ahead with the plan to burn Korans and gets slapped with fines, it seems ponying up some cash is in Dove World's future. Apparently the church is in major debt -- and needs $140,000 immediately to pay off its mortgage.

"RBC Bank called in our mortgage with a limited time to pay it off," the church wrote in the email pronouncing its intention to go ahead with the book burning. "Now Cottons All-lines Insurance has also canceled our commercial insurance on our property putting our mortgage in immediate default. We need to raise the $140,000 to pay off the RBC loan immediately."

I find it weird also that only NBC has this story and as of yesterday, the pastor is still planning to hold the event. NBC is not a shady news site but I don't know whether to believe this or not. Wouldn't be surprised though ;)

I know you're joking. That was my way of letting you know I thought it was in poor taste.

Well I stand by my comedic principles and don't care what you think. I have a personal philosophy to crack jokes in tense situations, and if that offends your beliefs then tough luck. I will not force my values on you at the barrel of a gun or the fuse of a bomb, but I will work peacefully to see less people adopt your ideas which I oppose across the world. If that pisses people off, oh well, that's their problem, not mine.

I'm not restricting your freedom to do so ofcourse. Opposing the spread of ideas does not mean that I would restrict your freedom to do so. I made it expressly clear that I would not force people to believe anything at the barrel of a gun. Which is pretty much the bottom line when it comes to freedom of disliking my jokes.

    I hope you understand.

I'm allowed to express my opinion, just as much as you're allowed to express yours. I have indicated no desire to ever see the contrary of that, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Nice to know I really got under your skin in the Bin Laden thread though.
