Kurt Russell, I dont know which one was more realistic but I thought he played the part better. Costner just didnt seem rough enough to play the tough cowboy type. I agree that Tombstone is a better movie.
Yeah, Dennis Quaid's overdone coughing spells are pretty hard to watch. I enjoyed "Tombstone" a lot more.
That was the beginning of Costner's decline at the box office---another long Western, just not as good as Dances w/ Wolves. Kurt Russell was better, and so was his movie. Val Kilmer was awesome. The duel that finished off Michael Biehn? Classic. And Dana Delaney? I'd be all over her like a bum on a baloney sandwich.
While from what I understand, Wyatt Earp was a lot more realistic, I enjoyed ALL of the acting jobs much more in Tombstone than I did in Wyatt Earp.
I actually liked both a lot but I would take Tombstone by a nose. Kurt Russell was pretty good. Val is Doc Holiday to me.
Val had the three best lines in the movie 1) "I'm your huckleberry" 2)When Johnny Ringo shows up for his duel with Wyatt and finds Doc waiting for him "Why Johnny Ringo, you look like someone just walked over your grave." 3)After Ike Clanton accuses him of cheating at poker. " It seems poker's just not your game, Ike. I know: let's have a spelling contest!"
"I know Darling...let's have a spelling bee" Damn that's funny stuff. Kurt in a landslide. He earned my nomination based on about 2 seconds of acting. When they are about to square off in the street and the tension is in the air. Right after Val winks at Ringo Kurt russell's expression is priceless. He knows what is about to happen, it scares him, but he is determined to win. Unbelievably awesome.
