Houston Gets Rudy Fernandez Portland Gets Lull rights + 2011 2nd round pick (from clippers) Houston Gets Carmelo Anthony Denver Gets Kevin Martin + Jared Jeffries + 2012 1st round (from knicks) Brooks/Lowry Lee/Fernandez/Taylor Anthony/Battier/Budinger Scola/Hayes/Hill/Patterson Yao/Miller
I like this proposal! Wouldn't mind if G. Wallace comes to Houston instead of Melo either ... but that would be another trade proposal because Melo isn't going to Charlotte.
3-team trade. DEN: Brooks + Patterson + Hill + Battier (expiring filler) + Harris + Johnson (non-guaranteed) + HOU 2012 pick + NY 2012 pick POR: Hayes + rights to Eliyahu HOU: Melo + Fernandez + Mills (S&T to make trade work) * Nuggets were $11,843,763 over the tax, are now down to $8,558,412 over. Denver left with the expiring contracts of Billups (partially guaranteed for $3.7M next season) & Kenyon Martin to make further deals to get under the tax, collect more assets, or package for a bigger catch. Billups, Brooks, Lawson Afflalo, Smith, Carter Harrington, Battier, Balkman Martin, Patterson, Williams Nene, Hill, Andersen Lowry, Fernandez, Mills Martin, Lee, Taylor Melo, Budinger, (Jeffries) Scola, Jeffries, Rolle (trade for rights from IND) Miller, Yao, (Jeffries/Rolle)
Yeah, let's turn into the Dallas Mavricks and overturn our roster every single year. Hooray !!! There is something to be said for consistency...and tweaking........ DD
Aaron Brooks is a franchise player, he's Obama era, ie he's going to change all that. Did you see what he did in his first year as a starter?
It is cyclical, I am old enough to recall when we were out of the first round every year, and even before that when we won so few games that the first round pick was ours 2 years in a row. Patience young padwan, patience. DD
I was thinking a 3 way with SAC too but different from yours: Hou gets: Melo, Udrih Den gets: Kevin Martin, Jefferies, Hill, Johnson, Harris & 2 1st round picks from Hou Sac gets: Kenyon Martin Why Hou do this: no need to say more about Melo; we will start Battier with him so Shane can guard the other team's best scorer; we still have Lee & Bud come off the bench. Udrih contract is horrible but thats the cost of getting Melo without significantly increase the Lux. tax bill (only about $3million more after the trade). Why Den do this: Hill replaces Kenyon Martin, while Kevin Martin can replace some of the scoring from Melo. They can start Kevin and JR Smith, and still have Affalo & Balkman come off the bench. The 2 1st round picks from us can help rebuild when Billups and Nene's contracts expire. More importantly this deal should put them below the Lux. tax (about $26 millions total savings) because of the cap room SAC has and after Johnson and Harris are waived. Why SAC do this: they have the cap room, and they can get rid of Udrih's contract (3 years left, totaled about $20 million). Kenyon Martin may miss the entire season and his contract (expiring) may be covered by insurance which helps cover the additional salary they take on for this season. They will have more cap room after this season to sign Landry and others. Hou Lineup after trade: Brooks/Lowry/Udrih Battier/Lee/Taylor Melo/Bud Scola/Hayes/Patterson Yao/Miller Denver: Billups/Lawson Martin/Affalo JR / Balkman Harrington/Hill Nene/Andersen Not a bad lineup for Denver; I think they can still make the playoff Thoughts?
Does anyone know whats wrong with the trade machine? It won't show whether the trades are good or not and it won't show the amount of wins or losses after trades.
I experienced the same thing yesterday. I guess that everyone is trying to play GM in light of the Carmello development?
We'd have to make this trade after October 11th. Houston Recieves: Danny Granger, Carlos Delfino, and James Posey Indiana Recieves: Kevin Martin, Shane Battier, and Ersan Ilyasova Milwaukee Recieves: Jordan Hill, Mike Harris, Alexander Johnson, Courtney Lee and Houston 2011 Pick along with the right to swap with New York's pick. This move would put Houston over the top everyone will finally start giving us the praise we deserve. We get out star in Danny Granger and a good role playing swingman in Carlos Delfino. James Posey would have to be the pill we swallow in order to pull this off, but it could be a valuable expiring next year. Indiana would recieve a slight downgrade in Kevin Martin, along with Battier. Ive heard that Indiana is keen on Battier, and would provide defense and veteran leadership. And don't forget about Ersan Ilyasova the big man Indiana need. This guy is like a Troy Murphy clone. He's 6-10 and has an inside-out game like Murphys. He can shoot the 3 and crash the boards. He's a good defender, and has a good contract. To top it all off hes only 23. Milwaukee would get a good prospect in Jordan Hill. Two contracts they can waive for some immediate cap relief. Also Courtney Lee an expiring that can back up John Salmons. They also get a mid-high lottery pick, to help them solve their puzzle. This is the main framework of a deal. We might give up the 2012 pick to Indiana, but as is it works for all teams. Houston becomes contenders, Indiana get's some pieces, and Milwaukee get some good depth and 2 good first round picks in next year's draft.( Their's and New York's.)
its better then what most people put on this thread i.e. shane battier jarred jeffries and a bag of potato chips for gerald wallace
If that team is under the cap by enough to eat the salaries of the incoming players, then yes. Technically, SOME consideration is needed. But that can be as simple as including a 2017 conditional second rounder (top-55 protected), and if the 2017 pick is in the top 55 picks, the obligation is extinguished. I believe the Clippers have issued this type of consideration for every year from 2013 through 2016.
IMO, Iggy fits the team better than Melo. He just fits our need more. Phillie gets Jeffries Hill Brooks $5 mil. TE Houston gets Iggy L. Williams
First of all, you cannot trade a trade exception. It can only be used to acquire one or more players making up to the amount of the trade exception. I will give you the benefit of the doubt, though, and assume that you are referring to taking on additional salary from Washington. On McGee, I think his Team USA experience is only going to make him more valuable to that franchise. I don't see them trading him for Jordan Hill and a pick, unless the pick is the 2011 pick (higher of Knicks or Rockets). And I'd say, "No, thanks" to that proposal.
