I would sell Brooks high. He wont be as effective when Yao comes back.

I think Brooks fits real well in with Carmelo and Yao.

    If anything;

    1) One of the backcourt starters; preferably Martin
    2) Youngsters; two if Martin, one if Brooks(Bud, JT, Hill, Patterson)
    3) Houston Rockets 2012 1st rounder(with minor protection)
    4) Seperate trade for Andersen or Balkman using our TE to save them money.

Martin, Hill, Budinger, 2012 Rockets 1st for Melo
4 Mil TE from Landry deal for Andersen

Budinger, Hill, Jeffries expiring + Knicks picks

I'm not sure the Nuggets would even want Martin or Brooks.

    Anything except Yao or Scola.

A frontcourt of Yao/Scola/Anthony would be unstoppable.

I don't think Denver want Brooks since they have Billups already. So the most realistic scenario is Martin + other players. And I do not want to give up Battier. So it's Martin + Jeffries + 1st draft pick.

    Lineup:
    Brooks
    LEE
    Melo
    Scola
    Yao

    Lowry
    Budinger
    Battier
    Patterson
    Miller

Now if they want Brooks, then we MUST keep Martin. If they want Brooks plus Martin, then we MUST get Billups and Melo.

No. None of the starters. Except maybe Battier. Melo is good, but he's not good enough to be worth sabotaging another position. He's not the kind of superstar who can carry a team on his back. We still need depth and a really good supporting cast to win with him.

Battier is the only starter I would give up and with giving him up Budinger cannot be included, it's one or the other.

Jared Jeffries to even out some money.

Jordan Hill and either Jermaine Taylor and a 1st rd pick or no Jermaine Taylor and 2 1st rd picks as the young talent in the deal.

    Battier/Budinger, Jeffries, Hill, Taylor, Pick.

    Pretty nice deal.

He isn't? Is that why he has never missed the playoffs in his entire career???

The guy is a top 5-7 talent in the NBA, he is one of the few guys that is worth creating holes in your roster to obtain.

Don't confuse him with the likes of Danny Granger or Chris Bosh

Supporting cast in Denver is better than they are given credit for, and Melo is worth less than he is given credit for.

No. He's not. Look at his advanced stats, like PER. He's not even close. Heck, it wouldn't be shocking if Kevin Martin put up a better season by himself next season than Melo... he's done it before.

He's worse than Chris Bosh, who had one of the worst supporting casts in the NBA in Toronto, and he's only a little better than Granger.

PER is for suckers who cannot evaluate talent on their own and need to rely on meaningless stats. If you think Bosh is better than Melo you seriously lack any kind of awareness when it comes to basketball.

    Take a look.

    Hollinger's PER Rankings

    Melo is #13.

He's a good player, but he's not one of the ten best players in the NBA, let alone one of the five best.

PER is one tool, and it's a lot more valuable than the random word of some sucker on the internet who doesn't even bother to back up his opinions.

Okay, internet smart guy. Explain why. In detail. I expect a 1,000 word paper by tomorrow morning. I will grade you on the basis of how few logical fallacies you use (because I am 100% certain you will use at least one).

    Goodnight!

It doesn't account for winning, supporting cast, style of play, or defensive abilities. It's garbage. There is far more to evaluating NBA talent than a useless statistic created by and ESPN contributor who is a poor judge of NBA talent.
