I like them all. I tried the Lemon Lime and Tropical fruit punch. I think most people like tropical fruit punch more but i like the lemon lime more. Both really good though. Next is Grape Bubble gum. I never take supplements for the taste but these are all tolerable. prepare to life the world!
Protein and Creatine aren't remotely the same thing. Creatine is used to recharge ADP into ATP and naturally occurs in your body. A supplement increases the body's pool of creatine which can lead to greater generation of energy. Creatine is one of the most scientifically researched sport supplements in the history of sports supplements... and in that research you're not gonna find something that says it causes kidney or liver damage. Don't buy in to any kind of creatine myths. It's not a magic product and it's not a steroid but it is very useful and proven effective. It is currently being researched as a product to help with muscular dystrophy, parkinson's disease, and in elderly populations working against muscle wasting and fatigue. I'd hardly only recommend it to serious body builders. I personally have found it most useful in cycling it in when trying to maintain lean muscle while reducing body fat.
you know of any good articles about creatine? i went all through high school hearing creatine was bad for you, or at the very least, taking major risks taking it. heard something similar to what you're saying once i hit college but never really looked into it. would be interested in reading up on it more
Just try the NO-Xplode. Be sure to follow the instructions and DON'T eat for 2 hours before you take the supplement (it can tear up your stomach). As others have said, drink a lot of what... but you should be doing that anyways. I prefer to cycle on and off of creatine so my body doesn't adjust. Every supplement works differently for different people. It's going to take some time and money investment to figure it out for yourself. Would you consider yourself a hard gainer or do you put on weight (both muscle and fat) easily? Do you take any other supplements now? (protein, etc.)
I loved No explode. Loved it, but more than anything it was the caffeine and B-Vitamins that made it seem so amazing. All in all, after all the stuff I tried NO Explode, Hydroxycut and even Xanedrine I think the best aid is a healthy diet.
I have a folder of creatine research that I'll try and get some published articles out of when I get a chance... in the meantime, i just google searched and found this which is a good primer... http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/creatine_is_safe.htm
It seems like SSIN Juice has gotten better reviews than Jack3d. It has worked great for me. Zero carb Isopure is what I use mainly for whey but I like switching the proteins around.
Tried Jack3d last night. Felt good, not insane, but good. Might try to up the scoopage tonight, only dropped 1.5 last night in the water bottle. My post workout choice is Dymatize Whey Protein...Mint Chocolate Chip! Tastes good unlike the other proteins on the market, and it's low carb.
Thanks Mr. Obvious. Anyone with the internet can tell you they're not the same thing. I was stating that from my past experiences, a significant increase in protein and a well balanced diet has done just as much for me as when I tried creatine. Just a little background on my experience, I've been an athlete all my life. State swimming finalist, nationally ranked, collegiate water polo player, coached swimming for 10 years and coached a girl who made it to the olympic trials. So not to sound full of myself, but I know what I'm talking about, obviously. Like I said before, creatine will obviously help, but unless you're trying to get huge or competing at a high level in your sport, don't waste your time, money, and health. Get some high quality protein and take it 2-3 times a day, eat your veggies and fruit, and watch what you eat. Oh yeah, and make sure you exercise. OP, it would help us advise you if you tell us what you're trying to accomplish.
Well I'm just starting off, right now I can barely bench 130 (I'm about 136ish fml ), I can do 3 sets of 40lb dumbells for each shoulder and 35s for curls. Basicallly just want to bulk up a little, I feel I'm on the skinny side. Hoping that maybe I could see some improvement in 3-4 months assuming I go to the gym 3 times a week. As for legs, I might be just doing sets on my calves. I have these little chicken legs but I can grab the rim when I jump (Im 5' 9") but I'd like to at least have thicker legs lol
Yes but when you say don't get creatine, just eat a lot of protein and a balanced diet, that's confusing for other people. A balanced diet including healthy ratios of CARBS, FATS, and proteins is integral, but for a large amount of the population a creatine supplement can and will be beneficial on top of that. Is it necessary? absolutely not. Is it useful? yes. Why do you continue to say you need to be getting huge or competing at a high level in order to benefit from creatine? Do you have some research to back that up? I'm also interested in reading about the kidney/liver problems that have occured due to creatine supplementation. It would take an extreme abuse of the product or a pre-existing kidney/liver disease for creatine supplementation to be detrimental to your health.
In order to gain size you need to create a caloric surplus. Eat more food than you're currently burning and you'll add weight, simple as that. What ratio of carbs/fats/proteins you eat in addition to how hard you train is going to determine what kind of weight you gain, but the most important thing you can start doing is making sure you're simply eating enough to put on any mass. The #1 and 1a things that hardgainers fail to comply with is putting enough calories in their system and getting enough rest out of the gym to let their bodies grow. Do these things and you'll have no problem getting significant results in 3-4 months.
***Bump*** After reading this thread I bought Jack3d. I am enjoying the results so far. I used to take Jack3d pre workout then creatine about 20-30 minutes after my workout when I arrived back home with some whey protein. However I have had to change my routine up a bit. Now about 1/2 an hour before I work out I take my scoop of Jack3d (like normal) and I add to it my portion of creatine for that day. The reason is that after I work out, lots of times I can't take the creatine immediately after because I don't go home and don't take the creatine to the gym with me. My question is... is it OK to take them both together in the same cup? I know Jack3d has some creatine in it but I heard its not enough to replace your daily dosage. Is there such a thing as overdosing on creatine? Stupid questions I guess but I have been doing this for the past 2 days and have felt weird.
Good question, I have been doing this off and on for about 6 months. By off and on I mean every other week or so. Only thing I recommend is drink at least a gallon of water maybe more depending on how much you sweat during your workout. I recommend this because in the beginning I slacked off and I was cramping up really bad because I ignored the whole drinking water suggestion and drank only two glasses.
you cant overdose on it at all, but your body can only absorb so much. and the rest goes down the drain.
Thanks man, I did it again this morning. I think the biggest change is that I am feeling nauseous and getting heartburn, however, there is a definite difference in my gains. Last night I was only able to get 4 hours of sleep due to work. I was certain that my workout this morning (legs, abs) would suffer. To my surprise I increased from my workout last time and still had energy to burn. It seems like every day I increase weights from the day before. Pretty awesome stuff.
