to squeeze a better offer from another team.

Which doesn't make any sense because we can offer more than any other team.

Although, I assume the Nuggets would rather trade him to the eastern conference.

I think Duffy wants Melo and Yao to play together.

    http://www.sports-agent-directory.com/sports-agents/billduffy.asp

Bill Duffy has been involved in professional sports representation for over twenty years and is one of the first agents to place American athletes in Europe and bring Europeans to the NBA. BDA currently represents 30 NBA players including Carmelo Anthony, Steve Nash and Tayshaun Prince. Duffy is a member of Team Yao, the representation team of Yao Ming. Duffy was named the "Agent of the Year" in 1998 and 2001 by the Black Sports Agents Association. Bill also had a successful career as a player, from his college days at Santa Clara University, to being named the Denver Nuggets fourth pick in the 1982 NBA Draft.

His list of major clients has included some very famous names:
    • Carmelo Anthony
    • Steve Nash
    • Tayshaun Prince
    • Yao Ming
    • Antonio Davis
    • Juan Dixon
    • Drew Gooden
    • Michael Olowokandi

Let them laugh. I don't get all this 'why would so-and-so go to Houston' hate. Do we not have a track record of bringing in top-notch free agents? Let's see:

-Drexler -- okay, home-town team, so not the greatest example.
    -Barkley -- yup.
-Pippen -- I hate to mention his name, but EVERYONE thought putting him with Dream and Chuck would bring the Rockets back to the top.
-McGrady -- didn't end well, and we traded for him, but it wasn't a rental, that's for damn sure.
even Deke -- old but highly effective and desirable in a league with hardly any legit bigs.

Hell Steve Francis knew Houston was desirable even as a draftee who whined his way out of Vancouver.

And this is just from the mid-90's to today. I understand the marquee locations and I understand that we're not that, but c'mon, people. We're not the Clippers or the Warriors or the Bucks. The Clips and Golden State SHOULD BE elite places to play, but they're not because they're not well-run or are a complete joke. Even the Knicks, despite their "elite" status, are a joke and have been a joke for 10+ years. Maybe Amare can help turn that around, but it won't be soon in their rebuilding process. Houston is a well-run organization with the hardware, history, and All Stars to show for it and every player in the NBA knows it. The only reason a potential FA ought to be concerned about Houston is Yao's health. And without him we still took LA to 7 and then won 51 the next season.

So stop the hate. It makes no sense, it's stupid, and it makes you look stupid and completely ignorant.

    ^^^
This wasn't directed at you, Hayden_SFC, but to the haters in general who can't seem to fathom that someone would want to play here.

Well I hope Denver doesnt end like Toronto and Cleveland who opted to not do deals with team like the Rockets and got nothing and got destroyed. Rockets seem to be the best deal possible if they dont want to go into seclusion for the next decade. I think The Knicks is for the most part the place for Carmello and Paul scenario. Who says they cant end up both here next year when Yaos contract expires???? Carmelo??? :)

Old news. Melo has fired BDA and moved on to CAA's Leon Rose, Lebron's agent.

LOL, it's kinda funny how people think that we can just give up players who are not of any consequence and think that Denver would accept that trade. Really people you gotta think we would be giving up value to get greater value back which is what Melo is.

I highly doubt that Melo comes here. Denver is not going to deal with us if an eastern team offers them a equal-value trade.

    Carmelo for

NY Pick, Rockets Pick, Cash, Battier (would return after buy out), Jefferies, Jermaine Taylor (cheap, young stud), Patterson (cheap, young stud 2), Budinger (cheap, young stud 3).

So essentially 5 picks and cash for Carmelo. I don't think anyone can top that.

I think we are offering brooks as the center piece of the deal But in the end Martin is who they really want.

As much as melo may want to leave now the best deals for denver are going to be at the deadline.

The expiring contracts that they want will only have to be payed out at half the value maybe even less if the players involved are willing to take a buyout.

If Martins who they really want Morey shouldnt be hesitating at all. Holding back Martin is not a great excuse.

here are my sources. i hope it can happen this way!!!!!!    :) :)

Time to add another team to Carmelo Anthony's list.

Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated reported on Wednesday the Melo is open to signing a long-term deal with Houston, if the team can offer Denver an "acceptable trade package," according to multiple league sources.

Mannix also confirms the Nets as a destination Melo feels the same way about -- a team we've already discussed in conjunction with him on Wednesday.

    To the Trade Machine, friends!

Trevor Ariza would have been a decent choice to send back here, but he was just shipped to New Orleans last week.

But if Denver is just looking for money relief for Melo, Houston could be their best option, as the Rockets have a few larger expiring deals.

    To the Trade Machine!

Anthony for Shane Battier (in last year of deal paying $7.3 million) and Jared Jeffries (in last year of deal paying $6.8 million) would work.

The Rockets also have the rights to the Knicks' first-round picks in 2011 (top-1 protected) and 2012 (top-five protected), so they can add in some draft picks to sweeten the pot.

While the Rockets might not offer the most attractive package talent wise, if Denver is looking for some money relief and the option to rebuild a bit via draft picks, Houston is a pretty solid option for the Nuggets at this point.
