personally i think the bulls will lose in the free agent wars because of their history of contract problems and just the fact that they are the bulls and the team will always be compare to jordan's teams and that added pressure wil be hard for some guys to take.
they proably will get stuck with what they drafted and maybe jermaine o'neal if the trade rumours are true.hell if they can't get any guys to come there, they might be desparate and make some deals for the hell of it.we might could get fizer from them.
    just my thoughts....

How can anyone say the Magic won't go very close to winning it all, if they pick up these three

This will be there line-up (need to deduct a couple of players for the McGrady trade, probably Mercer and Wallace)

    C-Duncan, Doleac, Amaechi
    PF-Outlaw, Wallace, Williams
    SF-Hill, Miller, Garrity, Harpring
    SG-McGrady, Mercer
    PG-Armstrong, Billups

So you are adding Duncan, Hill and McGrady to a team that finished 41-41. That is a great line-up with plenty of scoring options and good role players coming off the bench. Much deeper than the Lakers too.

The East sucks and they could take it out straight away, and then really push the Lakers.

    Smeg,

The only thing that could stop them is chemistry, and all 3 of those big name Free Agents are quality guys.

    DANG !!!

Chemistry is easy if you know you have serious chance at the title and a group of players who are unselfish and willing to do for the TEAM whatever it takes to win the title.

Since they are in the East and play the Rockets only twice a year, Houston would be glad to play them in the playoffs because that would be the NBA Finals. Worry about that team when the Finals situation comes up.

Wow. If Orlando signed all 3 of them, they would be unstoppable. You know Hill is unselfish, it's prolly the same thing with Duncan cuz he wants to win; the only question of unselfishness is T-Mac.

Didn't T-mac leave Toronto cuz he didnt want to be in Carter's shadow?

But if they all end up cooperating, they would truly be unstoppable. They will almost surely make it to the FINALS unless 2 of the 3 get injured or something. Man even if Hill gets injured, they still have 2 quality stars to depend on. Scary. How will we beat them if we get to the Finals? We dont have Nick Anderson to depend on now!

well, last season i also heard that portland would walk straight to the championship with scottie pippen. i also heard how the lakers would win the championship every year with jones, bryant, and oneal. they got swept a bunch of times before they finally did it. barkley, drexler, olajawon, i know they were old but they were a pretty hyped trio and they only made it to the conference finals. what about strickland, webber, howard. they never did anything.jackson,kidd,mashburn.i know some of those are weak comparisons but the point is its all hype man. you dont know how it will be until they play. there have been alot of great teams on paper who never did anything. you just have to wait and see before you write in lakers/magic finals for the next ten years. things dont always turn out the way you think they will.

Portland lost because they don't have anyone on their team who steps it up in the fourth quarter. They had at least three guys who thought they were the team leader(Pippen, Smith and Stoudamire) and at least three guys who were wrong.

LA kept losing because of that nagging rule which only allows one ball on the court at a time.

Tim Duncan is an NBA Finals MVP, and humble.

Grant Hill has perhaps the most complete game in the NBA, and is the stereotypical ex-Dukie - hard-working, unselfish and without a superstars ego problems.

Tracy McGrady is one of the best athletes in the game and has developed a good all-around game. And he stepped it up in the playoffs when Carter floundered.

Hill, Duncan and McGrady surrounded by a great cast of overachieving role players, with a coach they really like is scary. Really scary.

Two problems leap out at me. Chemistry and the McGrady question have been discussed already, but I wonder if they won't have the same problem we had with Dream, Chuck, and Quitten: three go-to guys, none of whom could handle the ball well enough to run the team. Remember Quitten dribbling it off his foot in the closing minutes of a crucial playoff game for us, then blaming the loss on Chuck?

Hill is a much better ball handler and leader than Quitten, but the "point forward" concept has not worked very often. Since McG is mainly a forward and Mercer is almost certainly going elsewhere, that really just leaves Armstrong and Billups, two promising but inexperienced guards, in the backcourt. If I were the Magic, I would forget McG and concentrate instead on -- gulp! -- Mobley. [IMG]

That said, this would be a great team, but it all depends on signing Duncan. Without him, it's just the Pistons (Hill era), Suns, or Jazz... solid teams never able to reach the top...
