This is correct. They show Vader communicating with Luke to join him and the Dark Side. Luke hears Vader's call as he is building his own saber, which then lights green signaling that he is Jedi and not Sith.

Building your own Saber is the final step to becoming a Jedi, if memory serves.

It is super cool. It retains the cool elements of the special additions and removes the crap like Greedo shooting first, that atrocious Jabba scene, and all the annoying crap Lucan put in to turn it into a kiddie movie.

What this guy was able to do in this fan edit is simply amazing. It is my definitive version of Ep IV, and he is currently working on a Revisited Empire and he'll do the same for Jedi.

Anyone that wants the original, unaltered theatrical versions the highest quality possible should either get the November 2008 DVD box set release, the 1995 LaserDisc THX/Faces set, or the 1993 LaserDisc Collector's Edition set.

I hate Lucas for altering the flick in that way. Solo shooting Greedo, before Greedo could get off a shot himself, was a major element in building Han's character. Lucas, as brilliant as he is, was a chump of the first order for tinkering with Star Wars beyond simply remastering and "cleaning up" the sound and so on. I have the original versions on VHS, but not on another format. Yes, my VHS player still works, but it's hooked up to my "B system" in the bedroom. I'll have to look into the truly unaltered versions in a "modern" format that were mentioned.

Google "Adywan's Star Wars revisited". You can find it on some torrent sites. I think I got mine from demonoid, maybe. But it is most excellent.

A lot of people either forget or ignore that there was a full release of the original, uncut versions of the movies on DVD a couple years ago.

The difference between 480P and 1080P is a much larger step than that of DD5.1 or DTS to TrueHD. The reason to go BDD is the picture.

Sorry I thought your link was a link about the film.

All the same, I was simply blown away by it. I'm such a Star Wars fan that I have a hard time even discussing SW with 'normal' people, and I took what Lucas did to the original trilogy personally. I almost refuse to acknowledge the prequels they were so awful. A friend and I were discussing our mutual disgust this past last weekend and came up with LPTSD, or Lucas Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

This Adywan character went a long way to healing some Star Wars-related wounds with Star Wars Revisited.

I can't wait for the next one.

I feel the same way...I don't double dip on any movie, no matter how great it is...IMHO, that is a waste of $$ plus most dvd players upconvert...and yes you can notice a difference and I know the audio will be crisper, but c'mon...Plus I think i have the 2008 box set...got it for xmas...NBO..

I can no longer sit through these films.

George Lucas could project the films out of his ass in a super duper hi def 3d format onto the side of the Grand Canyon...and I still won't watch them.

It lacks freshness in any format.

Yeah - the link was kind of cryptic. I'm afraid to tell a lot of people about it becuase I scared they will make him stop haha.

ESB has been pushed back to 2011. Adywan thought the movie would be easier to "fix" than ANH but once he got into it he started wanted to make it perfect and now its a huge project. He is even re-filming some of the scenes on Hoth with extras and costumes.

In the mean time, Adywan released a color corrected of the original theatrical ESB version last month but its compressed for a 4 GB dvd. Its still looks pretty good.

Someone else released a decent "despecialized" color corrected Return of the Jedi (took out the horrible Wuzzum etc). The replaced footage is not full dvd quality though. But it's sill better than the new scenes.

I wonder if they'll ever be a blu ray version that hasn't been mutated with added scenes.

I'd trade any of this crap for one more movie taking place in the 20 years between III and IV. Darth Vader in his prime, hunting down and killing Jedi all over the galaxy, the rise of the Empire and the birth of the Rebellion, Stormtroopers (not Clones) invading other planets, Kenobi quietly watching over Luke on Tatooine....

It has the possibility of being the best movie of them all, if it's done right.

Someone else released an Ewok-free RotJ. Now that is an idea I can get behind.
