According to reports out Tracy looks like heading to Orlando to join Hill, via the sign and trade route, which would still allow Mr Duncan to sign aswell.

Raptors' McGrady also believes in Magic

ORLANDO, Fla. -- With Grant Hill seemingly a lock and Tim Duncan weighing his options, the Orlando Magic courted free agent forward Tracy McGrady on Wednesday. And they must have liked McGrady's response. The Magic are working on a sign-and-trade deal to add McGrady, who played for Toronto, to a team that could include Hill, who played with Detroit, and Duncan, who played with San Antonio.

"Once Grant and I get here, this will definitely be the city," McGrady told The Orlando Sentinel. "The East is locked up. If Duncan comes here, it will be scary.
"Only the (Los Angeles) Lakers will be out West. Imagine those matchups? It will be unfair to the league if all three of us come here. We'll have the East. We'll be playing the Lakers for years."

Hill seems poised to leave the Pistons and sign with the Magic for a six-year deal worth $67.5 million, with a first-year salary of $9 million. He is scheduled to meet with Pistons president Joe Dumars on Thursday, but Hill has told friends he's heading to Orlando. "If what I'm reading is true, yeah, it will be a big disappointment," Dumars said. Like Hill, Duncan and McGrady could sign for $67.5 million in Orlando or $86 million with their respective teams. Duncan still is undecided.

As for McGrady? "Money is not an issue. It's all about being happy and comfortable," McGrady said. "I don't care how much I make, $67 million or $86 million. You can't spend it all anyway."

One scenario to get all three would involve a sign-and-trade. The Magic could sign free agent guard Ron Mercer, and then trade him along with several first-round draft choices and cash to the Raptors for McGrady. No matter what, McGrady said he won't go back to Toronto, where he averaged 15 points and six rebounds in his third NBA season.

McGrady said he will make a courtesy visit to the Chicago Bulls on Friday and throw out a ceremonial first pitch for a White Sox-Cubs game on Saturday.

"Frankly, it's just out of respect," McGrady said of the upcoming visit. "They wanted me before I came into this league." But now he wants to be in Orlando -- preferably with Hill and Duncan. "I feel very comfortable here," he said. "I'll take a couple of days after the Chicago visit and then tell my agent the real deal. My No. 1 choice is Orlando."

Remember how we all fantasized about having Dream, Clyde, and Barkley all on the Rockets in their primes? This is a little scary...

Oh well... IT SURE AS ALL HELL BEATS A LAKER DYNASTY! [IMG]

Wow, if this is true, Chicago is getting screwed over by Orlando and LAC.

If TMac isn't going to Chicago, Oneal and Thomas may not want to go their either, nixing getting Oneal/Barkley for Crawford. And if LAC is happy with who they ended up with and don't trade for Fizer, Chicago could end up with only Jones from free agency and stuck with their draft:

    Tarlac/Simpkins/Bagaric
    Brand/Fizer
    Artest/Hawkins/Benjamin
    Jones/Guyton
    Crawford/El-Amin

... OK team, but not championship caliber as they had hoped. The way this is all going seems to be their worst cased scenario.

Then Chicago might want to do a Fizer/Cato trade with Houston, after all. Of course, I'm sure this would also put Rose at the top of their list, although I think he's a wildcard with Indiana. Now if they got Rose somehow also as well as Cato, they could have a pretty good team, although I think Orlando would have a much better one.

    Cato/Tarlac/Bagaric
    Brand/?
    Rose/Artest/Benjamin
    Jones/Guyton
    Crawford/El-Amin

That just got a chuckle out of me. When my choices are $67 million and $86 million, yeah, money wouldn't really be an issue for me, either. [IMG]

ummm...I dont know why some u are getting so giddy over Magic getting all three of those players. Yeah so who the hell gives a f@ck if they beat the hell out of the Lakers. Why do we hate the lakers? Because we hate all the freakin pub they get. Just imagine how much Magic are going to be hyped up. And anyways who the hell cares about even all of that. If those three get together we can pretty much forget about any Rocket championships for the next 12 years. They are going to be scary as hell. I love Hill, but I dont want all three of them together on a team (Rocks not withstanding). We have money to spend next year while all the free agents are available this year. If they get together Rudy better figure out how to land us KG and Webber. Duncan's ass needs to sign with the Spurs for one fu@king season. Where the hell is popoye when u really need him?

If I were the Raptors, I'd rescind this schmuck right now. $67 Million dollars? Ohhhh, you must be going to the Bulls. Rescinding him would be tantamount to what L. Miller did to Shandon Anderson, but this would be from a position of power, in that it would save cap space.

Best possible scenario: rescinding his rights empowers the Bulls to toy w/ McGrady's contract. Punk.

Now I see why we didn't trade for the b****. Too bad for the Bulls. Couldn't have happened to a nicer organization.
    BU-WA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!
Hopefully things will shake out well for us. Getting Fizer would be cool. The boy's mean, he's big, his attitude is just what the team needs.

Man I hate this - Orlando getting three of the best FAs in one offseason. I guess now we'll never see the end of it. We'll have one team after another clearing up cap room in anticipation of some free agent becoming available.

At least the lesser of two evils looks like winning the day - Orlando over the Bulls.

BTW Sherlock - whats this about the Bulls getting screwed over by Orlando and the Clippers - I heard one of the commentators mention it on draft night, and he said that is why the Bulls picked Fizer?? Can anyone enlighten me?

It concerns me that Orlando is getting ALL the free agents, thus leaving Chicago with the lower tier guys. You know...guys like Cuttino. Just imagine if Chicago signs Eddie Jones. Who on the Rockets team has been quoted siting Eddie Jones as an idol and mentor -- Cuttino Mobley.

I am not so sure, they are getting Duncan. He seems to be wavering a bit.

If they do get all 3, that would be an awesome team.

While I agree about DUncan wavering a bit, I think if the Magic get Both McGrady and Hill that makes them MUCH more attractive to Tim. Certainly MUCH MUCH more attractive than San Antonio.

Forget what I said about Duncan wavering, I just heard he put his house in San Antonio up for sale.

Good bye Spurs...one less team in the Rockets way.

Personally I think if you have McGrady, Duncan, and Hill together it has a decnt chance of blowing up in the Magic's face. The talent is there, no denying that but we have had three stars and while not in their prime they could still light it up. Remember year 1 was pre-knee problems for Hakeem, he still had the dominant moves. Clyde was certainly a dominant scorer many times, and Barkley still had skills. Anyways I say this because like the Rockets I expect the Magic to implode. You know somebody n that team is going to have ego problems. They all can't have the last shot and be the hero. Also McGrady is getting the max solely on potential. He is not a superstar force in this league and I would venture to say that playing with two other dominant scorers he will not get the chance to develop the way he needs to. One other thing doesn't McGrady seem a little over confident. I personally hope he keeps that attitude. Teams that think they can't be beat usually get beat. Just the flip side to the Magic's argument.

I heard one of the commentators mention it on draft night, and he said that is why the Bulls picked Fizer?? Can anyone enlighten me?

The day before the draft, the Clippers and Magic apparently agreed to a deal sending the 5 and 10 picks from Orlando to LAC for the 3rd pick. The deal was that the Clippers would pick Miles at 3 and the Magic would select Fizer at 5 and Dooling at 10. Ofcourse Jerry Krause wanted Miles badly and was all pissed off that he could not get him so he just stepped in and broke up the deal by taking Fizer at 4. After the fact, Miles has become happy with playing for the Clippers esp since they also picked up Quentin Richardson, Corey Maggete and Keyon Dooling, and the Bulls are left with a major position duplication that they will have to solve.

What I wonder is how the hell a small market team getting all these players. They are not going to win. Everyone knows that the Lakers will win forever until Kobe leaves. Its written, remember? Small market teams don't win titles cuz NBC says so, right?

Boy, I can't wait until the theorists explain how the Magic won a title DESPITE the refs! [IMG]

All this crap is still just conjecture.
Start b****ing when they have signed 1 or 2 of these guys. Also look at Chicago...they have a ton of cap room and nobody is gonna sign there. I see the conspiracy to get a badass team in Orlando. Remeber Orlando winning the lottery 2 years in a row so they could draft O'neal and Webber (Penny). How'd those two look together now.

Hey if duncan leaves and with hornacek retiring are division is going to be a lot easier. If we just resign mobley, with just one year under francis' belt, and with a buff, improved cato, i think we'll win the division. itll be pretty evenly matched. we could do it. hey the magic almost got in the playoffs last year. crazier things have happened.
