Now there are some nice little patches of action throughout the Expendables one being Crew's is pretty badass and you will know what scene I'm talking about.. The fight between Dolph and Jet sucked major donkey balls I couldn't see anything!!! My problem with this movie is the way it was shot particularly the last act with everything going so fast and the quick edit cuts and close up it was ridiculous!!!
it is exactly what the trailer suggested it'll be 10/10 terry crews stole the show with his scene and..... Spoiler he wants to be president....... LOL
I'd imagine a paper thin 80s movie plot and story, lots of cheesy one liners, and lots of fights, guns and explosions are what one should expect here. I'm looking forward to it.
For the two people dissing the movie, I really don't know what film you guys were watching. This movie was spectacular and everything that today's movies are missing. 10/10. My only complaint was that it seemed way too short. It wasn't, the running time is 103 minutes, but it seemed short because it was so fast paced and I was enjoying it so much. Wanted it to last longer. Can't wait for the sequel.
Yeah I don't know, if you hate this movie than maybe you're thinking it's something that it was never billed to be. I liked it...and sorta loved it. It has some flaws but the action was damn fun and definitely earned it's R rating. The first act was a little uneven and flat. The first action scene was a bore outside of the first shot. The Willis, Sly and Arnie scene was unnecessary, disappointing (in that they weren't involved in the action) but still kinda cool and had some humor. The second and third acts definitely make up for the rocky start. Crews was a badass. I thought Jet Li had some really good fight scenes (and I had no problem following along). And Mickey Rourke steals the show in his couple of scenes. I liken it to A-Team earlier in the Summer....both had some flaws, were fairly formulaic and somewhat forgettable...but both were very solid action movies.
I made a half hearted attempt to keep a body count tally. I had it touching 250. Not terrible, a couple of really bad plot holes, but evened out with a couple of brutally awesome kill scenes.
Stallone already has an idea for an Expendables 2 if the first does well. And he wants to maybe bring more 80' stars and current ones into the mix. I wouldn't mind seeing Kurt Russsel, Chow-Yun Fat, Van Damme, maybe Wesley Snipes along with Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, and a female action star like Milla Jovovich or Zhang Yiyi. Or how bout Bruce and Arnie involved in the action this time. I'd wouldn't seeing a sequel, but they'd have to up the stars and up the action.
my only 2 complaints are: the quick cut fight scenes, they happen too fast to really see what was going on. and, this one probably deserves to be posted in this thread. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=191629 Spoiler the fire. when stone cold was burning it looked too fake. otherwise, good movie. worth seeing in the theater for the big and loud explosions.
