Numbers wise you would probably have to go with either Stockton or Malone I would probably give the edge to stockton since he leads in both assists and steals.

Though I cant vote for a Jazz player for anything of the remaining I would have to say Baylor. That guy fought every year with the celtics only to retire and see the Lakers win the title the very next year. After that he had to deal with working for the Clippers -- poor guy has been through a lot in his life.

If we were ranking greatest players in NBA history, I think Elgin Baylor would rank ahead of those other guys in the poll according to a lot of experts (especially old-timers). He's viewed as a pioneer. Not sure if that qualifies him as the best, though.

Whoever has the highest (playoff) win shares per (playoff) games or minutes played gets the nod.

I would say its very close between Barkley and Malone. I voted Malone, but in his absolute Prime Barkley was a better Player IMHO. He was a BEAST.

The correct thing to do in that case is avoid the thread.

Objectively, I have to say Stockton, although that makes me feel dirty.

I am not old enough to have watched Baylor play.

Also, I think Dominique Wilkens should be an honorable mention. He has already been snubbed in the Top 50 selection.

I remember the discussion leading up to the draft... should the Lakers take Worthy or Nique? At the time, I thought Worthy would be the smart play, and I guess history has proven that it was, but man, I'd have loved to see Nique catching passes from Magic.

This is the type of post that will have you elevated from the level of "rookie" in no time!

I voted Stockton because I always felt he was a little better than Malone. I never saw Baylor play, but he may be the best of them.

Malone was a great player, but Barkley its very close.

But I couldnt vote for a jazz player, when one of the other options was a rockets player, so I voted for Barkley.

Probably either Stockton or Barkley. I'd say Stockton is either the second or third best PG ever, depending on whether you consider Oscar Robertson a 1 or a 2.

I know most would probably choose Malone over Chuck, but I really think Sir Charles was the better player. Certainly not as durable or in-shape, but he was more of a playmaker, a better rebounder and a pretty dynamic finisher. Malone gets the edge in terms of D, but I really don't think his defense was that amazing. Barkley was also a more reliable crunch time player, IMO.

Who would you guys rather have in their respective primes, Stockton/Malone or Barkley/KJ?

Why do some here just vote for Barkley just because you can't vote for Malone, because he played for the Jazz......ridiculous.

Ridiculous because if he were a Rocket, we'd love him.

Malone was a better player than Barkley. 2nd in points all time, 2 mvps to Barkley's 1. Better defender. Just as good rebounder. Good perimeter game.

Close call between Baylor, Stockton and Malone. Voted for Malone.
