You don't have to "cut" 4 players. They have the ability to keep 3 inactive players for a total roster of 15 (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Basically anyone without a guaranteed contract is out, the others will play in the D-League/stay inactive.

That being said, there is no way Jeffries is part of their plans on the court. He is just an expiring contract at this point and will be moved by the deadline.

    11 positions are fixed.
    C -- Yao, Miller
    PF - Scola, Jeffries, Hayes
    SF - Budinger, Battier
    SG - Martin, C-Lee
    PG - Brooks, Lowry

The 12th position will be competed by Hill, Patterson, Taylor. 15th position will be open for emergency as before. They will let Jeffries play to pump up his trade value. He will be gone for sure before the season is over.

Based on what Morey said in the 610 interviews, IMO he and Adelman are sending Patterson to the Vipers to work on his game. I think they want to explore what Hill can do for us since Patterson's skills are not as multi-faceted.

Jeffries isnt backing up Scola that job is Hill's and Battier will start we need a someone like battier in our starting lineup (someone that will do the liitle things and doesnt care about putting up numbers)...Chase will come off the bench and will be very effective with Lowry and C-Lee. Im very excited to see our second unit

I did. Hill has more tools with greater potential. 2Pat is a solid pickup but is the Chuck Hayes replacement.

An NBAdraft scout said it best: "Patterson looks like the typical productive power forward that GMs know exactly what they are going to get when they draft him... Not the highest upside, but a safe and reliable pick who rarely turns the ball over and just screams efficiency..."

I understand we don't have cut them.
3 of them will still be on the team, just won't suit up, I just don't know who that 3 will be!

just because he doesnt have big numbers potential doesnt mean he's not multi faceted.

He can shoot the midrange, the three, he can rebound, defend, blocks at times, he has somewhat of a post game and can dribble well enough to take some guys off the dribble. He's more multifaceted than Hill actually as Hill probably will never be able to shoot a three or be as mobile with the ball.

Disagree, but we shall see. However, what makes my heart sing is that whoever proves to be the better player makes the Rockets stronger.

what exactly do you disagree with, specifically? I think everything i said about PP he's proven with his play.

potential doesn't mean consistency. Hill's post game down low is a slight weakness. His strength is the face up game and quickness.
PPatt was solid in the low post. Neither did convince in the SL games.
PPatt seems to have higher BBall IQ.

Not the highest upside means there were Cousins, Favors, Monroe, Ed Davis who have more upside on PAPER. nothing is written on it yet.

This is a waste of time as players will have to prove themselves in the preseason camp and games. No need to second guess the Coaching Staff and Management!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p

With the addition of Ishmael Smith - doesn't that add up to 17 players now?
Assuming no more trades in near future that means 2 players to be released, right? Who?
