What do you think of Kevin Martin's stones? Would you stare at them?

He would stare at them, while what he really wants would be a tasty pair of MOST IMPROVED stones, and dreaming of pale, whitewashed stones that may or may not be (but probably certainly definitely are) the stones of the NEXT TOM CHAMBERS.

i am not a doctor either. except the age the length of playing bb, i don't see any difference btw ilgauskas and yao regarding to their foot injuries.

DD, if your question just focuses on whether his left foot can hold, yes is my answer.

Sorry, DaDa, this is an absolute loser of a thread. Voting on a human's health? C'mon. -0 and lockable.

Why? Yao has a history of being injured, and a lot of people are seriously questioning whether he can stay healthy, for this season.

I believe he can, I believe the doctors have fixed the problem and more importantly, the organization and YAO HIMSELF have learned that they need to moderate his time on the court and in practice.

The biggest problem is that they needed to learn his limitations, and they did, now they need to tailor a program that gets him on the court for as long as possible in an effective role that does not put undue pressure on his feet.

I think everyone is smarter, and because of that, he will play many years at good health.

    I voted 'yes'.

Am I skeptical? Do I have my doubts? Absolutely.

After all we've been through I have no choice but to remain optimistic. We're bound to hit a stretch of good luck eventually, right?

My heart is saying yes, but my head is saying no.

I hope his minutes are limited big time during the regular season.

    Why indeed.

Who are you, or any of us, to 'poll' another person's health. You and I agree some, disagree on other things. On this? We're in far other orbs.

Not sure how anyone here can really have a meaningful discussion about this topic. None of us, I think, has Yao Ming's actual medical information or the medical knowledge in foot reconstruction surgery to make any kind of useful prediction or intelligent discusion.

No one here knows if he will stay healthy. No one here can even claim to make an actually "educated" guess. End of discussion. Next topic.

Not gonna make pure speculative post about his health. Not a f*****.

Then there's probably no difference between Stoudemire's microfracture and McGrady's too, right?

Healthy is a bit of a thing of degrees. Am I optimistic about Yao not suffering a season-ending injury this year? Relatively. Do I still think he'll miss multiple weeks at some point, even if just for 'preventative maintenance' of his health? Yeah, I do. But if that's what it takes to get him to the playoffs healthy, then do it.

How can we possibly know now? Why on earth would I vote in a public poll when any opinion at this juncture is based purely on hopes, wishes, faith, and fate? One would think that a poll of this nature would wait at least until the end of training camp, when we will have some honest clue as to how healthy and mobile Yao is at the beginning of the season.

    foot shape vs worn-out cartilage.

i will say again i am not a doctor. at young age, cartilage can be generated fast and with better material by human body. at least, i know broken bone can be healed fast and better at young age. when you're old, any broken bone will sit you on the bed forever.

i doubt foot shape has sth to do with age.

just a thought- bigZ had his surgery done like 7 yrs ago, and it was a new procedure then, hopefully the medical field has advanced a lil since then and maybe yao's was less invasive or whatever . also Yao has had a WHOLE YEAR 2 recover. thats gotta count for something
