Bama is starting off mighty good. That Onside Kick took major guts, and then to pass it in the face of that formidable defense. They Take an early 3-0 lead on a long field goal, but their offensive game plan looked very good - Texas should try to emulate some aspects, particularly the rolling of the pocket.
by the way, Pitt got robbed! having to redo that extra point 3 times just killed them... i loved how the crowd starting chanting "bulls***" over and over after the second call... they could have had a chance in the final drive, if only they managed the clock better... it didn't help that the Wrecking Crew just demolished their O-line back to the game... are you kidding me with that snap! safety??? #$?%!
It all goes back to the drive with the blocked FG. If the receivers hold on to the ball, its a different ball game. While I'm typing, Bama blocks a FG.
Come on 'Bama! Miami 20-10 over UF...UF's making a LOT of mistakes out there, especially on special teams. The only player I've been impressed with on their side is Earnest Graham. Then again, the only player I've been really impressed with on Miami's side is McGahee...though their offense is showing a lot more than UF's right now.
And now Bama will have the ball inside the OU 50 after that horrible punt, with a chance to put the game away. Special Teams have been huge today - Bama's has been dominant.
damn, i watch the entire 1st half of the FLA v. MIA game and miss out on a huge comeback???? ahhhh!!!! go Tide! 4 mins. to go Tide ups the score to 27-23 as I type!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh great. OU scores a touchdown after 2 shuffle passes, and on 3rd down and 5, Alabama's QB fumbles the ball and OU gets another TD, so now they lead by 10 with under :30 left. OU is reminding me a lot of FSU last season...neither Tulsa nor Alabama were expected to be very good. If they aren't careful, in the Big 12, they are staring at a long season. Needless to say, I don't think they'll be #3 next week.
Bull****. Go back and watch the first shovel pass that Ronaldo Works ran with, from the replay angle. You can use the "holding happens on every play" line all you want, but there is a defender right in Works path, and Trent Smith literally gives the guy a bearhug to keep him out of the way. I'm changing my prediction. Texas won't beat OU by ten. It'll probably be about twenty or so... this team, with Nate Hybl, is just pathetic. With a 23-3 halftime lead at home against an average team, it took a botched holding call and a quarterback just dropping the ball for them to pull out a win. OU sucks.
UT better come out fired up against OU though. Bama played a good game, but they also made a few mistakes. Alot of heart. Make no mistake though, there are chinks in that crimson armor. Don't think OU will drop in the polls. BTW, how good is Bama? They beat Mid. Tennessee State 39-34 last week.
Alabama is not that good. I will give them credit, though. I never expected them to keep this game so close. Oklahoma is in serious trouble, but we already sorta suspected that with Nate Hybl/Jason White in charge at QB. BTW - When Miami runs the ball like they are doing now, it is almost damn impossible for anyone to beat them.
Agreed, Manny. McGahee is looking very impressive today vs. UF. Earnest Graham isn't doing much vs. Miami, but he does have 75 yards and a touchdown. Gives me hope with Greg Jones and Nick Maddox against UF come November, though! Heck..maybe even against the Canes next month!
Why am I not surprised that you are the first to complain about refs/officiating? When UT loses to OU, the odds are 1:1 that you blame the refs. Every team has bad games over the course of a year. It's way to premature to say OU is bad, good, whatever. Mighty Miami last year, pulled out wins against BC and VT by the skin of their teeth. Did they suck? UT fans should want OU to win to help out their SOS and QW ratings in the BCS. Worry about OU losing, when you guys face them in Oct. With losers like Baylor, Tulane, UH, and UNT on the schedule, UT needs every SOS and QW point they can get.
Nice little 99yd INT return by Miami for a touchdown - that's probably the dagger in UF's hopes to pull out a win. Is it me, or does Dorsey have an awkward throwing motion? Looks similar to a 3/4 sidearm motion to me.
