Continue to get younger and reduce payroll, so the team will be in a good position once the lockout ends.

Hopefully Morey made this move because he has another deal in the works for a better SF. But who knows who that might be. Courtney Lee wasn't on anyone's radar around here, and the key player in Morey's next deal might not be either. For all the chatter on here, it seems we rarely get wind of what's really going down with Morey and trades.

Hopefully he can package the exception and Jeffries for a star sf.

Are you serious? This will not happen for two very simple reasons:

    1. Rockets do not want him. I thought the FO made that VERY clear last season, but T-Mac fans seem to be in perpetual denial about their idol.

    2. He has already signed with the Pistons. Why would we want to trade anything to get him back?

He is no longer here so either move on or become a Pistons fan.

Yeah I could see prince come, Detroit really needs a big, so I guess we could trade Hill and Jeffries for him. Then we'd have solid defenders at the SF position

    Brooks/Lowry
    Martin/Lee
    Prince/Battier
    Scola/Patterson
    Yao/Miller

Followed by C-Bud, Taylor and Thhe chuck wagon. BUT I'd also like Iggy at the SF since his defense isn't too shabby and the fact that the guy is younger and healthier than Tayshaun Prince. For iggy I'd offer Battier, Hill and Jeffries.

Sure his contract is lengthy and not all that attractive but with him we'd have solid starters at every position. (if Yaos healthy)

I feel pre-trade Granger was our best option but now there is no way he is available before the trade deadline. We don't need AI2 since we have Martin and forcing either into the sf role probably won't work. I don't think there are any big names that can be gotten right now.

There is no way New Orleans is parting with Chris Paul now. If they had any intention of doing so, there is no way they'd have shipped out Collison.

I think Iggy or Melo are the likely targets. We can send a package centered around the expiring contracts of Battier and Jeffries with a combination of draft picks & Hill.

I think Morey's next move will be another big man or a SF(Iggy).

Would be great but the team can not package the TE with a player.

I wonder if the Ariza/Lee trade was something that developed during Jeffries talks?

I would guess an all-star level point guard, Nash or Paul would be great.

The recent talk is that trading away Ariza leaves a hole at the 3. Battier/Budinger could play the position (since Lee is more of a 2), but it obviously has become our weakest position with the least depth. Unless, of course, they intend Patrick Patterson to play the 3 which I think he's flexible enough to do.

Regardless, it appears we have a hole at the 3. Who can we fill it with? This season or next off-season? If it's next off-season, the answer would be obviously Carmelo Anthony considering how much salary is coming off the books. We've only got $33M guaranteed next season, $40M if we exercise our team options on Hill, Lee, Budinger, and Taylor (which I expect). That leaves just enough space to sign Carmelo outright, I think.

Of course, we'd have to relinquish Yao's Bird Rights... not sure if the Rockets are willing to do that. S&T?

The next move is Kobe. After losing Championship to HEAT...Kobe wants out and demand trade to Rockets....who have HUGE ASSETS.
