The recent acquisition of Courtney Lee, shipping out Ariza, cap relief and the $6 million trade exception is a prelude to the next Daryl Morey huge surprise trade to make us a legit contender. Which all-star/superstar it's gonna be? I think we all have quite a clear idea who it is.
Hint: It clearly won't be Chris Paul nor Danny Granger since this recent deal shows the Hornets and Pacers are keen on making them happy with their acquisitions of Ariza and Collison, respectively.
i want Morey to secure the 3 spot for our future..i want him to make a move for Iggy or Thad Young or Wilson Chandler or Prince...Jeffries' contract would be in play here.
Rudy Fernandez is a whiner. While I think he's an awesome player, he's bad off the court. Two years ago, Blazers fans loved him but now they hate him for whining too much.
Iggy looks more likely now that this deal is done, and if Philly is looking for cap relief, and some good talent/picks we can supply all of that. One thing I don't want to do is trade all of our assets to acquire Iggy, and then Denver call around the deadline about Melo.
He won't whine if given a meaningful role, like the one Ariza got last year. He used to come off the bench too in his national team. He has a well rounded game without any glaring hole, so playing time shouldn't be so hard to earn here. And the Rockets went hard after him too, in the draft
If I had to put money down right now, I'd go with the Rockets getting Iguodala. Then once they do that, Morey will probably fill in the hole they just traded away for Iggy (my guess would be Jordan Hill) by trading draft picks and the trade exception. That's pure speculation on my part, though.
