No. The failed Yao, TMac, Artest one was ... (Tofu, TSlack, and Testy).

Not remotely. The year I was most excited (even more than entering the championship years) was year 1 of the Barkley era:

    Dream
    Barkley
    Drexler
    Elie
    Maloney
    -------------
    Kevin Willis
    Sam Mack
    Othella Harrington
    Eddie Johnson
    Brent Price
    Randy Livingston
    Matt Bullard

I'll argue that was the most talented Rockets squad ever assembled. To this day it kills me that a mix of complacency and chemistry issues derailed them halfway through the playoffs. The squad got a little full of themselves after whipping the T-puppies, didn't step on the Sonics neck, and then were drained and on edge with each other for the Jazz. Kills me.

I was really anticipating the '07-'08 season. Nearly every Power Ranking had the Rockets set at #1 (of course that wasn't the case).

The additions of Steve Francis, Mike James, Luis Scola, Aaron Brooks, and hell even Carl Landry (when we thought he was still a scrub) to a team that was already 52-30 previously seemed really promising to the team. Of course the annual injury bug kicked in and all hopes were gone when Yao went down.

    Remember T-Mac/Yao/Artest???

I was predicting WCF at least, and was confident that we'd be an elite team.

Too bad T-Mac picked that year to be injured.

Ditto. I don't think we are that good this year. Sorry.

Nope. The '97 season when Dream, Clyde, and Sir Charles got cheated out of the Utah series was the most anticipated Rockets season for me.

I would put the Barkley year over Pippen. The first Big 3 since the Lakers or Celtics of the 80's. 3 hall of famers on the same team didn't happen often - at least not back then.

I think the Artest T-mac Yao season was more anticipated. I am anxious for this season to begin as well, but that Artest trade really made everyone here go nuts for quite some time.

Its exciting for those of us who have watched this team.
We're not sure exactly what we'll get, but this team has huge upside.

Now, for those who only know superstars, then they aren't excited.
They should go watch the Heat. LOL.

Every team has huge upside before the season begins. They all have the potential to win 82 games.

Brent Price going down with the injury is what killed us. Matt Maloney was not at the same level. Price was such a better passer and his three point shot had just gotten dialed in before he got injured.

Rockets were playing awesome ball with Price finally healthy and fitting in. Then the ACL.

If Price never tore that ACL, I know we'd be in the finals. I knew the moment it happened we were in trouble. Barkeley had said that "we don't depend on brent price" but you do depend on your pg especially his 3 point shooting which was needed to give space to the interior guys.
