All signs point to low conidence on Yao's feet.

We are in rebuilding mode unless we make a big trade by the deadline.

Overall, like it or not Replacing Trevor for Lee makes the team worse this year.

I didn't want to admit it but we had no chance to win a title anyway (MIA, LAL) and I think Morey knew this and dicided that we needed to rebuild.

We could've gotten Posey and Collison

IN all seriousness, I think Lee is a solid player off the bench and far cheaper.

see, this is what i wonder. it seems like ariza would fetch more than this. i willingly concede that the guys pulling the trigger no more about this than i do...but it just appears to be about shedding dollars. which is fine...but rings a little hollow when you're talking about contending.

Not sure I like this deal for the simple reason that, Battier has seemed to be a step slow last year at times when healthy and then has missed at least 15 games 2 years in row.

Since he is not an a good athlete and getting up there in age, he is just not that effective playing hurt.

Having Ariza not only allow the Rockets to guard two wing players, but insurance that they will always have at least 1 above average defender active and possibly on the court at all times.

Buddinger has the size to be a good defender, but he never has shown the mindset or intensity to translate that on that court.

Maybe this is Morey just proposing that the rockets will not be facing the Heat in the Finals, so they do not need two wing defenders of this quality...

    Posters open their eyes.
Morey is humane and makes mistakes.

Why? Is this a SalCap deal for the Rox?

Glancing at the stats it's not an upgrade, really a bit of a downgrade. Looks like a Cap dump. 6 mil vs 1 mil.

Get Lee and then ship him to Portland for Rudy F.

lee is BETTER than ariza is offensively. all-around, ariza may have the edge, but adelman gave him a lot of freedom.

basically, we don't lose much gaining lee and unloading ariza. but lee is much cheaper so that is the key.

Lol Ariza was a chucker? He was just doing what Morey and Adelman told him to do.

So we brought in Ariza, and paid him, thinking he would continue to improve his game.

He didn't, and so we're letting someone else take that risk, while bringing in a cheaper player who can do all the things Ariza actually did (as opposed to the things we all hoped he would do).

Seems very much like a Morey move to me.

At first thought, I was totally against this trade. Now that I've had time to digest it some, I like it.

We need a solid option at the 2 when Martin goes down, it will happen.

Lee can play both ends and has a nice contract for the next two years.

This opens up more time for Bud, he's earned it.

Yes it saves the Rockets big money this year and helps get them closer to not paying the tax.

For all of you complaining about sending Ariza, I'd bet half of you were b****ing and moaning about how he was awful last year. Yes I think Trevor would have been better playing with Yao and Martin all year, as a 4th option. Yes we are probably losing a little on the defensive end at the 3. Everyone here knows that Ariza really didn't have enough upstairs to play well consistently. I don't think Ariza's attitude really fit this team either, he always seemed to be jumping on players like he was Kobe or something.

I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest that this could lead to a deal landing someone like Iguodala or a C. Anthony if the opportunity presented itself.

Battier was hurt all of last season. Now Budinger will get to play. Ariza wasnt anything special. Lee helped Orlando all the way to finals just like Ariza. We need a back - up shooting guard.

If you think about it, at the end of the day this move may be a lateral move (at least in the short run), Lee is younger and probably has more potential to grow more so than ariza seeing that he played on a stacked Orlando team 2 years ago and on the worst team in Nets...plus he's younger than Ariza in terms on how long he's been in the NBA....with all things considered if you can make a lateral move and shed a good chunk of change from the books, you make the move....
