Yeah, he did a great job of that last year. Lee isn't better than Ariza -- we downgraded in talent. There shouldn't be any argument there.

I will always be against any trade that nets us the less talented player. This is one of those deals.

That's a very similar scenario and I think we all like the way that turned out. I was never sold on Ariza either.

I knew Morey had interest in Courtney Lee, back in the---2008?---draft, and thought Lee would be a viable trade option this year. Although I generally thought we'd aim to trade Martin and, say, Patterson or Hill or whatever, in some attempt to get Derrick Favors and ending up with Lee in the process.

Courtney Lee will be happy to play here. If we get the Orlando version of Courtney Lee, we'll be happy, too.

In any case, what's wrong with the trade? Ariza played well after our acquistion of Martin but it wasn't as if he suddenly became Danny Granger.

And who's to say there isn't another deal in the works?

Especially since Courtney Lee could probably play starter's minutes but has Kevin Martin ahead of him and Jermaine Taylor glaring over his shoulder.

Courtney Lee's PLAYMAKING ABILITIES > trevor's playmaking abilities.

We need a second playmaker on the court, a guy who can penetrate and make something happen. Courtney Lee is more than capable of doing this. Ariza tried this last year, and we saw how terrible he was dribbling the ball, or shooting the ball for that matter.

Oh, come on Pimp as much heat as I got for saying that Trevor did not fit and that the team should trade him and keep Shane because he is expiring along with Yao and Jeffries.....

I deserve a little self reach around.....

It is all in good fun......I don't take myself all that seriously anyway.

    ;)

Goodbye Trevor.....don't let the door knob hit ya where the good lord split ya.

You make it seem like Free agents want to sign and move their families around??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

When they come to Houston on their own free will, they are thinking they are going to be wanted and not traded after 1 full season, when the best player on the team is out with an injury.

Money or no money. People are still human beings and they want that feeling to belong to a group, to be wanted (that is exactly why Ariza came here)

If I was a free agent, only looking at the news (not reading the forums). Houston would be one of the last places to go. Because the only loyalty this team has is Yao Ming due to his status.

Everybody else is trash (in nicer words, just trade bait till something comes better)

So far this year we heard the following people on this team as trade bait

    Brooks
    Scola
    Shana
    Ariza
    KM

you may as well name the whole roster except for Yao. I barely hear anything from other teams about trading everybody on their teams for an upgrade.

Going into the season, moral wise, it sucks to know your team "Just tried to trade my ass out of here to save Lux tax"

Call it what you want, but these people are as much as a human being as you or I and they deserve to feel wanted (even if its a lie).

Just wait till AB contract is up, the Rockets are going to treat him like Trash too.

No draft picks involved in four-way trade.

OMG Buddinger is so ****ing overrated on this board its ridiculous. I guess we will be seeing him getting eaten alive by SF this year. His defense is atrocious.

This trade has made us worse and you some of you are excited about Les Alexander saving 10 Million?

Its not your money so who freaking cares. So much for spending on building a championship team.

This trade seriously pisses me off. We have taken a step back today.

Elated, I am, to see Trevor Ariza gone from the Rockets.

He was better than Courtney Lee was last year. And very good after the Martin trade.

Exactly. It doesn't make sense at all. Why don't the Rockets just trade Ariza for Collison and Posey straight up and/or with fillers if the Hornets just want Ariza to get rid of Posey and Collison?

The LT maybe the main consideration for both the Rockets and the Hornets but isn't Mr. Alexander willing to go over the threshold in order to get a star player. Well, Collison is as close to a star player as the Rockets may be able to lay their hands on this season.

What use do the Rockets have for an overweight, overpaid left-fielder?

    Your thoughts Old Fart

Ariza sucked at being a top primary option but he will be much much better as a role player with Yao and Martin.

if this trade goes down i do not see how we get better now or in the future so w/e just keep hatin on Trevor never did anything bad just tried to do his best as a scorer and failed as primary option he will be better with Yao but we will never see.

Why would Morey do a salary dump, then acquire a good player (iggy) with a HUGE contract. Doesn't sound like Morey to me...

Yeah but Trevor was redundant here, we had his skillset covered with other players.

We have too many rotational players and no NBA quality backup SG.....

Now we have a full roster.

Some of us were preaching that around this time last year when we first acquired him.

Yeah good riddance. We should have kept Artest ;)

Question: Since we're dumping salary on another team, wouldn't we might have to give up a draft pick?
