Hmm ... refer to http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=161825&page=1&pp=20 (yes, the thread quoted by ESPN). There I argued that the best indicator of near term performance is past performance. 1/4 of this board then jumped on me. A couple years later, where are all those posters??

Again, I argue that most recent performance is the best indicator of his near term performance. That's why he's getting an order of magnitude less money.

    Doh!

Tmac signs for close to the minimum on a marginal playoff team...why? Just so he can prove he can play a few good games still while he takes half the season off?

I think...more and more, he's showing that he's just going to play for the dollars. If he can make money playing ball he'll take whatever any team will give him. If you think about his demeanor, poor work ethic, and lazy play at times, it becomes more and more obvious that he was probably in this for the money from the start.

I assume T-Mac would've signed with the Cavs if they had offered a contract as he worked out for them.

    $1.3M is the veteran's minimum.

Morey has made this mistake before by bringing in a washed up player for the minimum. Remember Steve Francis?

I think its funny how JCDenton accuses Morey of the one not being able to swallow his ego. If T-Mac was able to swallow his, he would be in Chicago or coming off the bench of some contender.

It seemed to me like McGrady was moving in slow motion the whole time. He's nowhere close to the player he used to be. If he can swallow his pride and realize that, he could still be a good role player.

It's better than nowhere to go, at least he still could play ball in this league.

Quick question: Who will average more points and minutes this coming season-
    Yao or T-mac?

Hopefully, his knee will feel better the more he rehabs. Right now though, it's hard to know what kind of player we'll see this season.

But I'm glad to hear he'll get his chance at least. Good luck, T-Mac.

Man, that was the slowest 21 points I've ever seen. I feel sorry for him, his whole game has degraded. Comparing that video to prime T-Mac is like night and day difference.

You could probably start a riotous thread with that kind of question.

FYI to all - don't do what he wants and bite when JCDenton drops his troll bait. He's not posting sincerely, ever.
