I disagree, but everything comes down to a matter of opinion, I suppose. I've had several of their polos that still look brand new, but perhaps it's because I am over careful with my clothing. Lacoste is a very legit brand though, but like I said, different strokes for different folks.
I love Nike polos on guys. It says "I'm sporty, not too preppy or fratty, and I don't spend too much money on clothes" Then I like no logo polos best.
My best fitting and longest lasting polo is a black Brooks Brothers. Also, interesting facts on history of the polo shirt. "Lacoste's design mitigated the problems that traditional tennis attire created -the short, cuffed sleeves solved the tendency of long-sleeves to roll down -the soft collar easily could be loosened by un-buttoning the placket -the piqué collar easily could be worn upturned to block the sun from the neck -the jersey knit piqué cotton breathed -the "tennis tail" prevented the shirt from pulling out of the wearer's trousers or shorts"
I buy a lot from BR and most of their stuff fits great but their polos have this weird "bump" right above the shoulder. I thought it was from the hanger at first but I can't get it out even if I iron it, bought another color and it had the same thing.
I just talked myself into going and buying two more of these today, along with two button down non-iron dress shirts. The material breathes... and in this weather, that's a huge plus. No logo shirts ftw.
I have some of those white undershirts too. They are awesome. Super thick, soft, and I'm tall, so it's nice that they're long.
Those dress shirts are all I wear to work. You can't beat $16 for that type of quality. I also appreciate how they keep coming up with new styles every month. I used to buy only Nordstrom brand shirts, but these are very comparable for a fraction of the cost. I think I'll go pick up some KS polos from Costco tomorrow to see how those are.
That is because your wife got you the fakes off eBay, that is why! LMAO! I seriously hope she did not get them for you as a birthday gift or something, or that she didn't tell you she got them from the Lacoste store LOL! Trouble in paradise
Sorry, just read your second post. If that is the case and they faded after a few washes, then take it back to Saks and demand a refund, because THEY probably sold you fakes then. If not, then Lacoste will certainly replace them for you or refund you. I have 6 of those Lacoste shirts, 3 of them roughly 4 years old, and I wear them all the time and wash them almost every other week. Never had any colors fade or experienced any worn out fabric. These shirts are amazingly durable, plus they are light enough and let breeze in, which is pretty much a must for those of us who live down south.
Thats exactly what I said, but he replied and apparently he witnessed his wife buy them from Saks. Here's what I find strange...none of my clothes, aside from jeans, have ever "fallen apart", EVER (unless they were physically ripped) let alone my Lacoste polo shirt I've worn many a times over the past 4 years. Not saying that the ones rockbox got are not authentic, but Lacoste is a pretty expensive and more "top of the line" type polo..its just weird yours turned out that way
Yeah that was my thinking, and my exact experience with their polos. They are pretty damn durable, and the colors almost never fade. I have had 3 of the ones I have (black, grey and blue) for almost 4 years, same as you. No fades/worn out fabric problems thus far. I think they guarantee against color fades too, but not too sure about that. Hey, for $80 a polo, they should!
I just threw on two different BR polos and failed to notice a should bump on either. I bought a handful of these polos from the san marcos outlet mall on the super cheap.
I hope you guys saying how expensive Polo and Lacoste are realize that they are on sale quite often and you do not have to pay 80 bucks for them. You can often get them for 20 bucks
