Its funny how everybody considered Obama black until he got elected...now all of a sudden he's "mixed" Of course he's mixed we all are, but nobody called him that until he achieved what he achieved. whats up w/ that?
I'm pretty sure everyone knew he was mixed, going back to his teenage years when he was living his with white grandparents and calling himself "Barry." Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick and the rest of the Congressional Black Caucus, Jesse Jackson, David Mack and the other African American politicians who refused to support Obama initially because he wasn't "black enough" also were keenly aware that Obama was mixed. We're far from all mixed but Obama himself is biracial and wouldn't have been palatable to white voters if he wasn't mixed race and light skinned. What's up with making the assertion that he was only "black" before he was elected when it was white voters who believed in him and voted for him in Iowa before the majority of African American voters believed in him.
It's great how some people have difficulty sticking to the subject when Obama is involved. MUST SET UP HUMAN SHIELD AROUND OBAMA! DEFLECT CRITICISM AT ALL COSTS! On a different note, that's sick for Battier. Funny that he and Hill are two of the more cerebral NBA players and they're now balling with the President.
Who gives a damn what color he is? I still disagree with a lot of what he does. It's unfortunate that color influences people's politics.
Or just as easily: MUST CRITICIZE OBAMA AT ALL COSTS! Depends on how someone chooses to do his selective reading.
I would respond to that post....but to be honest I shouldn't have posted my initial response in this GARM thread. So I'll just say this and leave it alone: I find it weird that before he was in the public eye, Obama was a "black" junior senator but when he seriously ran for office he was all of a sudden a "bi-racial" candidate. But I guess thats the media for you. ******* Anyway let the basketball related thread continue
I'm sure he learned statistically it's better to get a hand in Kobe's face almost every time rather than go for a block that will succeed maybe only 5% of the time. It's also not like he isn't good at blocking shots...he led the team in blocks last year. It's more so that he knows his limits in terms of blocking shots from elite shooters with quick releases and does the most efficient response.
DaDakota will have a tough choice for his all-time fav between HC and Spanoulis. Greek T-Mac or Washington She-Mac?
If Obama can drop some on Battier, he could be useful for the Rockets next year. Sign Obama please! Get it done Morey!
