I just googled and got a bunch of dumb answers about pouring gasoline or muriatic acid on the stain. That or some $50 pre-mixed solution.

does anybody know of a cheap, organic solution?

    thanks.

Shouldn't you get the rusted cars out of your lawn first?

i use baby powder to remove cooking oil stains from my clothing. it sits overnight and the next day i just dust if off. the powder soaks it all up and oil stains are gone. you can try that or i think i've heard kitty litter works too.

how old or ingrained are the stains?

I have an issue with some on my drive from several old cars over the years that leaked. I have a power washer that worked for getting out the easier stains, but some of the oldest deep-down stains are being stubborn.

I'm thinking that I may have to go the muratic acid route.

I doubt anything organic is going to work if the stains are not on the surface...if they are....kitty litter is the cheapest solution. If they are old, possibly you could go rent a power washer if you dont already have one.

stains aren't old. maybe a few months, and they arent heavy. just about 10-20 dime-sized light stains.

I tried a pressure washer with dawn and purple power. no luck.

"Kitty litter" works very well getting most oil up on concrete, if it's recent.

Use kitty litter and use your foot to grind it into the stain. Works like a charm.

I concur. Sprinkle kitty litter on the stain and then grind it in with a brick. Brush it off and repeat. I've done this before and it works well.
