Wish the Vibrant works with 5.99 T-zones plan (unlimited internet but edge speeds). I can finally get rid of my 2g Iphone for it but unfortuantely the Vibrant isn't supported
Have it and like it, but don't love it. 1. Brower keeps crashing and shutting down on it own 2. Sometimes the people I am speaking with have trouble hearing me. 3. Connection is not the best Best things about it: Its fast and looks tite.
I bought two for family members. What I can tell you it absolutely crushes in is screen. The color is bright, vibrant and the blacks are true black, to the point where you cant tell where the screen ends and the black shell begins. I see things on icons with that phone that I don't come close to picking up on my Evo. Before I grabbed the Vibrant I never realized how off the Black color saturation was on my Evo. Now it pales so badly it looks purplish or grey next to the vibrant. The processor is much faster than the snapdragon on my Evo also. I ran Linpack and Quadrant benchmarking tools on both. Before I updated my Evo to 2.2 it would take about .85 of a second to process a program on linpack on my Evo as where on the Vibrant it would take about .60. But where it absolutely crushed my Evo was on the video end of it. During the runthrough of 2d and 3d graphics tests on Quadrant where my evo would garner on one test 8-10 FPS the Vibrant was maxing out in the high 30's. On average it would get 2/3 times the frame rate that my evo did running on the same frequency cpu. That hummingbird 1 ghz is truely a beast. My total score for the Evo was usually around 560 on Quadrant while the Vibrant would average almost 900. I know alot of people don't like added skins to Android, and outside of HTC Sense I have hated everyone of them also to include the previuous versions of TouchWiz, but 3.0 is really nice and gives you a ton of neat options. Little things like putting your Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS in the top drop down task bar and the ability to even change the entire font of your phone. The camera on it is really good also. In comparative tests against my Evo it produced less grain...actually let me correct this now, it produced no grain on indoor shots assuming there was even a modicum of decnt lighting. The 5 MP camera took better video and pictures looked truer than on my 8 MP camera on my Evo, except once you stepped outdoors. Outside in natural light the Evos camera flew past the Vibrant, but the Vibrant was no slouch though. The Vibrant also has many more settings and features to include eye blink detection, and antishake. Now for the bad. Well dont know if this truely bad, but the phone is so light and thin. I constant feel like its a paper towel in my hands, its also slick feeling so Im constantly feeling like Im going to drop it. The hardware its lacking. Ok seriously, no front facing camera is a real bummer as there is no way to really use video conferencing with the back camera. There isnt a flash at all for the camera which hurts for those indoor moments when even a single led flash would suffice. Compared to the Evo's two led flashes which put out enough light to snap a photo in all but pitch black from a distance of about 5-8 feet in decent quality. The SuperAmoled screen for all its silky butterness sucks big ones with just the smallest amount of face grease outdoors. Its an excercise in how hard you can squint. Why on earth isn't this phone part of their HSPA+ line? (TMobiles version of 4g even though its not really 4g its more like 3g+) Why would they cripple it like that? No LED notification light is a bit weird for me also. Why not? Last but the most problematic issue I have with the Vibrant is the capacitive buttons on the bottom. On my evo I have never had a failed press, not once. But on the Vibrants it seems as though either Im supposed to hold them longer or I have to press them 2 times to get them to actually work. Every now and then maybe once a day or so, the phone gets a bit laggy on the touch screen, but I believe its due to having a combination of Live wall paper, live news feed, live myspace and facebook updates all on home screens. Oh and the batter life is a good deal better than on my Evo. So all in all this phone could of easily been a true game changer. If they would of added a front facing camera, added a higher MP camera (even though in most ways it beats my Evo's camera at almost half the MP, people shot with numbers) with flash and put it on their 4g network or HSPA+. Its obvious that Samsung put the money into the processor, screen, and higher qualtiy camera. Wanted to build a sleek device and keep the weight low so they sacraficed some of the other goodies. So all in all Id say its up their but not quite at my Evo's level, but its pretty close. Id give it a solid 8 out of 10. Hope that was detailed enough for you.
Blackberry is still the safest OS in the world so that itself will keep corporations buying it for their employees.
You need to call customer service. Assuming you past a one year mark and they haven't early upgraded you before, just ask to speak to the loyalty department. They upgraded one of my lines even though I had 4 months to go. Just have to know how to politely gripe. Or even mention that you know that other people have been upgraded early.
If you are willing to wait another month, you may want to wait for T-Mobiles secret phone project emerald. Supposedly due out in October or November. Some things I've read were. -Dual core 1.5 ish ghz Qualcomm processor. -touchscreen and slide out keyboard while maintaining a Droid size. -8 mp camera -HD phone with hdmi out. -4+ inch screen. -HSPA+ Compatible device. All the goodies the evo has but dual core!!!!!
it doesnt? i was googling to find out people using the tzones with it i read one site that said that it worked but wasn unsure if tmobile would upgrade them from tzone due to bandwidth usage...
Enlightening. I see you studied the fine art of debate and you possessing superior communication skills.
Any word if ATT is getting something like that? Cell phones are so weird, its like they think them up and bam they are out.
