Didn't Ja Rule disses Eminem's daughter? Talk about class... <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/vmXTYu5Qvq0&hl=zh_CN&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/vmXTYu5Qvq0&hl=zh_CN&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
I've recently started listening to Mos Def. Songs like mathematics, get by (featured by Talib Kweli) , and umi says. I think they're pretty good.
To me, Thank Me Later is the same as So Far Gone except with better production. And oh, millions more fanfare. That doesn't detract from the quality of the album though. I'm not saying that TML is a classic but the same people knocking it now are quick to claim that So Far Gone was the best of 09. I've been a fan of Drake's since I first heard his Kick, Push remix, and he's been doing his R&B/Rap fusion thing since Comeback Season. People say TML isn't rap but So Far Gone had just as many, if not more, R&B tracks on it: Houstatlantavegas, Let's Call it Off, Sooner Than Later, etc. Basically, people praise So Far Gone for the same things that they hate on in Thank Me Later.
I thought So Far Gone was much better. I don't really have a problem with the rap/r&b, in fact my favorite songs off So Far Gone was Houstonlantavegas and November 18th. As for Thank Me Later, it just doesn't do anything for me. For some reason, I wasn't feeling most of the tracks. Didn't like the production either. And most of the choruses were straight ass. I only liked show me a good time, miss me and thank me now.
I really think the reason people hate on him is because he's associated with Lil' Wayne. If you've heard any of Room for Improvement and/or Comeback Season, then you would know he is a good rapper.
"Best I've Ever Had" is probably in the top five best rap songs in the last 5 years. Drake may not be "Gangsta", but he does have a still that is different and approachable to mainstream success. He works well with Lil' Wayne as a contrast in styles on various songs...such a "Miss Me". And his decent singing abilities enhances his style. Song arrangements are top-notch.......He is being very smart with his career. Don't hate the playa, hate the game.......
To me, Drake reminds me a lot of Lil Wayne. Drake is like the clean version of Lil Wayne. If Wayne had a regular voice, spoke proper and didn't do all those drugs, he'd be Drake. I think most of Young Money rap like Wayne. He even has some kid on there (lil chukee) that is almost exactly like him! For the record, I thought The Carter 3 was better than Thank Me Later.
http://videogum.com/img/thumbnails/photos/you_mad.jpg[/img Dude, seriously tho, no need for that. Drake is not gangsta he's not thug. He's just a pretty boy that can rhyme well and has some great beats (as far as his mixtapes and some songs of his new album go). He's not Eminem, he's not Jay Z, nor Biggie, Tupac or whoever you try to compare him to, he's just Drake. A love sick 20 year old that is finiding his place in the game. His mixtapes from Comeback Season to So Far Gone were all better than his album but he will bounce back.
this is when it was real <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2yCtA9syz_0&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2yCtA9syz_0&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
Honestly I could list a bunch of rappers who don't, also you should remember rappers are talking about their general experience. Just because they may not have gone through some of that stuff(although some have) they have lived around it. Just examine N.W.A look at the years they were hot...and look what was going on around their area...What else you going to talk about? Any one that says all rap is negative IMO was never really a fan of it, you don't have to look far for positive rap. Also this for no other reason. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-P9txvfWI90&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-P9txvfWI90&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
This may be the case. He should of joined the Roc, not Young Money. Kanye makes most of his beats anyways.

I wouldnt hold Blackberry use against him that much. Thats purely the technology dependent era we're in. "Gangster" rap was the best and worst. And honestly I think its better that its faded off. It did more BAD than good. To me how can you NOT BLAME Tupac and Biggie for current rap. Their stupid beefing, "East vs West" and subsequent deaths DULLED the industry, it did not fuel it. It made rap take a look at itself and go a milder direction. Young people want to have a good time without violent threats, can you blame them for that? Some purists will say Lil Wayne was a "real" rapper back in his Hot Boys days when he first came up. I say you gotta admit whether you take to his music or not, current Lil Wayne has made things MUCH MORE interesting than the narrow subject matter of his early days.
