I've been looking at various online brokerages. Although TradeKing is tempting due to low commissions ($5 per trade), I'm thinking of going with Scottrade.

Any alternate suggestions or experience with these brokers?

i have a scottrade account but their interface is crap. also, the site seems to crash more than it should. i hardly make any trades that's why im still with them. if you want a more responsive online broker, i'd look elsewhere.

Agree completely on scottrade. I have a Fidelity account I like much better - a plus for me is they recently cut their trade commission in half.

I'm closing my Scottrade account once I close out my last position with them.

What kind of trading to plan to do? Stocks, options, forex?

Platform with the best charts will be think or swim, tradestation, IB, TradeMonster

    Cheap will be OptionHouse, TradeKing

Avg is like fidelity, Ameritrade, scwab
