1.Hakeem Olajuwon (No real argument can be made)
2.Moses Malone (had a short tenure, but was dominant, 2 mvp's)
3.Calvin Murphy (Hall of Famer, all as a Rocket)
4.Rudy Tomjanovich (underrated because people think of him as coach)
5.Elvin Hayes (similar to Moses, short period of dominance, but teams sucked)
6.Yao Ming (legit 20-10 guy, best player on real good teams, oft injured)
7.Clyde Drexler (short tenure, but did a lot of playoff damage)
8.Otis Thorpe (workhorse PF, 15 And 10 every night, could have done more on lesser teams)
9.Ralph Sampson (very short career, but was great player on great teams)
10.Tracy McGrady (small window, but was great, should have been higher)

    Honorable Mention
    Kenny Smith
    Steve Francis
    Charles Barkley
    Mike Newlin

Yao can get as high as #3 if he has a good year and does playoff damage, but just outside the top 5 right now.

Fair enough, so who are your top 10?

    Hakeem
    Calvin Murphy
    Rudy T
    Moses Malone
    Elvin Hayes

    then...

    Sampson?
    Drexler?
    Barkley?
    Cassell?
    McCray?

Not that he's even top 10, but I'm surprised no body's brought up Robert Reid. And anyone who put Yao on the list should have Tmac nearby. So far, they've accomplished pretty much the same thing.

With very few exceptions, greatness is made in the playoffs, not the regular season. Here's my list (with playoff games played as a Rocket in parenthesis):

    1. Hakeem Olajuwon (145)
    2. Calvin Murphy (51)
    3. Rudy Tomjanovich (37)
    4. Moses Malone (45)
    5. Robert Reid (72)
    6. Clyde Drexler (51)
    7. Otis Thorpe (46)
    8. Robert Horry (65)
    9. Sam Cassell (52)
    10.Ralph Sampson (35)

Screw Yao... He is too easily neutralized and injury prone to be considered a top 5.

Yao is in the top 10. He probably ranks anywhere from 4-6 (depending on who you consider a "Rocket").
