My top five greatest Rockets (in no particular order)

    Hakeem
    Ralph Sampson
    Moses Malone
    Yao
    Elvin Hayes

IMO, Yao has done so much on and off the court for this franchise to be in my top five.

Who are your top five greatest Rockets?

You could argue that the top five greatest Rockets were all part of the first championship team. That would leave out Calvin and Moses, though.

Cleverly disguised "how old are you" thread.

Yao doesn't even crack my top 10. You gotta win more than 1 playoff series in your entire career to do that.

The same reason Steve "Franchise" (LOL) doesn't make the list.

Hmm I must admit that I have only been following since 1995, but since then, I obviously learned a bit about Rockets history.

    First team:

    PG: Calvin Murphy
    SG: Clyde Drexler
SF: Moses Malone (I know he's really a center or at best a power forward)
PF: Hakeem (I know he was a C, but Jordan repeatedly called him a PF...)
    C: Yao Ming :)

    Second team:

    PG: Francis
    SG: Vernon Maxwell
SF: Elvin Hayes (I know, he was a PF)
    PF: Otis Thorpe
    C: Ralph Sampson

    Third team:

    PG: Sam Cassell
    SG: Cuttino Mobley
    SF: Shane Battier
    PF: Luis Scola
    C: Chuck Hayes

There is no way John Amaechi gets on the all-time Rockets team ahead of Thomas "Two Sandwiches" Hamilton!

No one giving Robert Horry a mention? That's messed up.

Not that Robert Horry didn't do anything during his tenure with the Rockets, but I think more of Robert Horry post Rockets with his other respective teams...

Point well taken. If that is the case, and I believe this to be true then surely Pig Miller must have a seat at this honored table.

If you are putting Chucky Brown on a goof list, you need to think again. HE started all 82 in 96-97, and put in serious minutes during the 95 championship run. Huge contributor. Please remove him from your facetious list immediately. If you need help, try Buck Johnson, Spanoulis, McGrady, etc.

Yes, Rudy Tomjanovich played for the Rockets for a decade then coached them to two championships, i agree, Elvin Hayes seasons as a Rocket are much more important.

Although I do like putting Ralphi in there.

    Hakeem
    Rudy Tomjanovich
    Moses Malone
    Calvin Murphy

    arein a class by themselves
