As i figure it, Duncan is already in Orlando. So if you think about it, the spurs will be nothing but mediocre or less next year. They need a point guard, in the event that AJ leaves, which is probable. Why don't we give them Drew and a 2nd rounder for Samaki Walker and There pick next year, top 5 protected. That gives us a solid rebounder and a good pick. ------------------ Rockets games are like a box of chocolates, you never know whacha your gonna get.
First of all, they already have Antonio Daniels, who Duncan or no Duncan I expect to resign. Second, that trade scenario is so unrealistic. I would be thrilled, literally jumping up and down if we could trade Drew straight up for Walker. But of course we can't do that because Walker is MUCH better and worth MUCH more than Bryce Drew. Not even mentioning you suggesting that we get their first round pick for our second. ------------------ Member of the pro-Collier/Langhi movement. IN RUDY WE TRUST!! Without Duncan, who plays power forward in San Antonio. Unless they sign someone, I say it's probably Walker. ------------------
I am hoping the Blazers trade Quitten to the Spurs, just to see him "wallow in the mire" ------------------
The Spurs aren't going to give up Walker. ------------------ please venture to atheistalliance and rocketsonline I AM SPARTACUS
Drew is much better than you people think. His numbers as a starter were excellent. With time, I bet he could average 12pts and 7 assists: quite respectable. Remember, before he caught the injury bug, Brent Price averaged 10 and 5, and Drew is much better. ------------------
Very true, Drew is better than most people think!! Maybe we could sell Kenny's "impressive" rookie season to the spurs and get rid of him too!!! ------------------
Haven, Drew is dying as a Rocket!! He gets pratically no playing time, and even when he does all he does is shoot. He is a good shooter, but when the ROckets drafted him, they expectedhim to be a much better shooter. Plus, Moochie fits our style better than Drew. Drew should be traded.
Haven, I agree that with time Drew could become a pretty decent PG. Unfortunately, that time is not here. ------------------ Just because you're white and play basketball doesn't mean you're a Matt Bullard clone, despite idiotic accusations to the contrary. visit www.swirve.com
Drew is sure to be gone from the Rockets & some teams think he is talented enough to get some serious minutes. With that said the Rockets are playing it allot smarter than most think & will probably not take any player at Drew's trade price that has more than 1 season left on his contract. Making this a get the best fit in player 1 year deal possible, find a miracle trade that makes sense? Or suck it up stick Drew @ the end of the bench & give him parting gifts on 8-1-01. Probably option 3 unless some thing very helpful & cap-friendly comes falling in their lap. ------------------
Larry Miller just insulted FA J. Vaughn, and Dan F(ea)gan also represents FA H. Eisley. Send Drew to Utah! ------------------ The ClutchCity 500.
I agree, Drew's place isn't with the Rockets. I just thinkt hat many people think he's worthless, and he's not. Samaki Walker isn't exactly a great player... I don't think a straight up trade there would be out of line. ------------------
How about a 3 way with Orlando, San Antonio and Houston? San Antonio gets T-Mass and Our trade exception, future first round pick from Orlando, Orlando gets Tim Duncan, Bryce Drew and the first round pick they owe to us, Houston gets Mike Miller. If Orlando signs Hill, they won't have enought playing time for all their small forwards. Drew would be a good fit and can spell Armstrong. San Antonio gets some muscle, trade help with the exception and a future pick. We get Miller, the small forward we couldn't trade up to get in the draft. ------------------
Miller is not going anywhere. Doc loves his game. ------------------ "When your dead, anything's funny."-John Lennon
